There are many reasons why anime fans like Tokyo Revengers, including the characters that populate its world. While some were likable from the beginning, there were others that viewers didn't know much about at first but cared about them more and more throughout each episode.

On the other hand, however, there are characters that became less likable. Some fans liked them at first but they became worse over time, or they were always viewed negatively and never did anything to redeem themselves throughout the Tokyo Revengers' anime.

10 Takemichi Became More Likable

The main character of the series, Takemichi, was not a likable protagonist in the first few episodes. He started off annoying, as he always thought of himself in a negative way without doing anything to become more likable in his own eyes. The more he tried to save his loved ones and prove how far he was willing to go to achieve this goal, however, allowed Takemichi to become one of the most likable characters in the anime. Though he still makes some mistakes in the last few episodes, such as thinking about cheating on Hinata and making the mistake of letting his guard down around Kisaki, his greatest enemy, he became much more likable than he was in the beginning.

9 Akkun Became Less Likable

Akkun seemed to be the most likable when he was first introduced. He played a greater role in the series and seemed to care about his group of friends more than the others. However, over the years, Akkun walked down a dark path and eventually followed all of Kisaki's orders out of fear. The worst thing that Kisaki made him do was kill Takemichi. He had originally pushed Takemichi in front of a train, accidentally giving his old friend the power to time travel. After confessing his wrongdoings to Takemichi, he tried to stop Akkun from following Kisaki by returning to the future. Akkun tried to kill Takemichi again and hit Hinata with a car in the process. From that moment onward, it became hard to care for Akkun.

8 Draken Became More Likable

Draken

Draken quickly became one of the most likable characters from the beginning of the series, but fans liked him even more over time. He was very loyal to those he was close to. He was at Mikey's side from the very beginning, became a better friend to Takemichi after understanding that he wronged him, and went with Pah's parents to prison after Pah was arrested, despite knowing that he would have to wait outside. Draken always tried to do the right thing, and fans were upset when it seemed that he had died at the beginning of the anime.

7 Kiyomasa Became Less Likable

Kiyomasa was never a likable character. At the beginning of the series, he ran a fight club within Toman behind the leaders' backs, forcing Takemichi and his friends to fight members of Toman while others bet on who would win. However, within a few episodes, he betrayed the gang and proved to be a huge threat.

After Takemichi found out that Kiyomasa intended to kill Draken, the former Toman member tied the time traveler up. Luckily, Hinata rescued Takemichi, who did everything he could to save Draken. Although he did stab Draken, Kiyomasa wasn't able to kill him.

6 Hinata Became More Likable

Although she's not much of a fighter, Hinata is one of the strongest and bravest characters in the series. Because Takemichi knew that she would die if he couldn't change the past, he was determined to defend her, but she protected him just as much. She stood up to Mikey and Draken when they first met, thinking that they were going to hurt him. She also wanted to help Takemichi in his fight against Kiyomasa. She even sacrificed her life when Akkun hit her with a car, pushing Takemichi away from her to save his life. Hinata also supported Takemichi by letting him know how much she loved him. Even when he made dumb mistakes, she was there for him.

5 Kazutora Became Less Likable

When they were kids, Kazutora helped create Toman with the other founding members. For Mikey's birthday, he and Baji decided to get him the bike he always wanted. However, in order to get it, they had to steal it. The owner of the bike shop found them and Kazutora killed him, not knowing that he was Mikey's brother. Unable to take responsibility for his actions, Kazutora blamed Mikey for what happened, betraying Toman and becoming one of their greatest enemies. Though he would eventually regret everything he did and accept that he was in the wrong, he caused a lot more harm than he has been able to make up for.

4 Chifuyu Became More Likable

Chifuyu in Tokyo Revengers.

Chifuyu was a minor character in the background throughout the first half of the anime. He was seen with other members of Toman, but fans didn't really know anything about him. Once he was formally introduced, however, he became very likable.

Due to his loyalty to Baji, he refused to believe his friend would truly betray Toman and thought he only left in order to expose Kisaki. Seeing as how they had a common enemy, Chifuyu and Takemichi began working together, becoming close friends. Similar to his friendship with Baji, Chifuyu proved to be very loyal to Takemichi, helping him gain more power in Toman.

3 Hanma Became Less Likable

Hanma was already unlikeable when he was introduced. He was the leader of Moebius after Osanai and introduced himself to Toman when the two gangs fought each other. He fought them again as a member of Valhalla during the Bloody Halloween. During the battle, he showed how annoying, obnoxious, and unstable he could be, making it even harder to like him. Despite being an enemy to Toman for so long, he ended up joining them at the end of the first season and brought all of the members of Valhalla with him. While the majority of Toman was happy about this, most fans couldn't feel the same way knowing that he was working for Kisaki.

2 Mikey Became More Likable

Because viewers get to experience most of the plot from Takemichi's perspective, it's easy for them to see Mikey the way the same way he does. At first, it seemed like Mikey could have been one of the main antagonists of the series and that he'd be a huge threat. However, after Takemichi and Mikey became friends, fans started liking Mikey. Eventually, his backstory was revealed. Knowing everything that he had gone through, he became one of the best characters in the anime.

1 Kisaki Became Less Likable

Kisaki is responsible for a lot of the horrible things that most likable characters had to go through, making him the least likable character in the series. He did everything that he could in order to gain power, manipulating anyone he needed to and becoming an incredibly dangerous criminal that the police couldn't find. He forced people to do terrible things and ruined many lives, not caring about anyone but himself. In the last episode, he shot Takemichi and Chifuyu, so fans are looking forward to seeing what will happen in the second season.
