Tokyo Revengers meets Tokyo Ghoul in a new piece of art released by manga artist Sui Ishida.

The new illustration was posted to Twitter by the account Anime News and Facts. The new portrait is of one of Tokyo Revengers' central characters, Manjiro Sano, who is one of the founders of the Tokyo Manji Gang that the story focuses on. Sano is presented in the Tokyo Ghoul creator's trademark painterly and dream-like style. In addition to their original work, Ishida is known for regularly releasing fan art of other popular anime and manga series, and has previously made illustrations depicting Goku from Dragon Ball Z, One-Punch Man and Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Ken Wakui's Tokyo Revengers is one of Weekly Shonen Jump's latest hits. The series debuted in 2017 and already has over 32-million copies in circulation worldwide. The series tells the story of Takemichi Hanagaki, a directionless, 26-year old loser who is devastated to learn about the death of his teenage sweetheart, Hinata Tachibana, whom he hasn't seen in years. Following a suspicious accident at a train station, Takemichi's mind is transported back through time into the body of his 14-year old self. Takemichi decides to use this second chance to change the future, save Hinata, and discover what went wrong with the Tokyo Manji Gang. An anime series based on the manga began airing in April, the international release of which was criticized for censoring out the Buddhist manji symbol, which is featured prominently throughout the series.

Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul was also serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2011-2014. The manga was praised for Ishida's evocative art and dark storytelling, and was even recommended by the Young Adult Library Services Association of America as a "Great Graphic Novel for Teens." Conversely, the series' supernatural elements and violence caused the manga to be banned in China. An anime adaptation by Naruto and Black Clover studio Pierrot was released in 2014 to a much more mixed reception.

Both Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Revengers are currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll. Tokyo Ghoul can also be streamed on Hulu. The manga for both series are localized and distributed in North America by VIZ Media.
