Tokyo Ghoul wrapped up its story in its fourth and final season last year. While fans may be split on the anime adaptation, most can agree that the show remains a popular option at anime events around the world. Tokyo Ghoul takes place in a version of Japan that has Ghouls living among humans.

Ken Kaneki is thrust into this world of ghouls when he is tuned into one without his consent. This begins his tragic journey where he questions his moral idea of ghouls. Along the way, Kaneki crosses paths with a multitude of interesting characters that fans have loved to recreate.

10 Uta

Via deviantart.com/lalaax

Uta is a ghoul and the owner of the HySy Artmask Studio. Here he works under the guise of an artist while making masks for ghouls to help them hide their identity. Uta is a very distinct character with many tattoos and a Gothic type style.

This cosplay by LALAax is a spot-on re-creation. Not only does he nail the outfit, tattoos, piercings, and even the facial expressions, but he goes further and recreates a whole room that looks like Uta's own workshop. Having masks and mask sketches scattered around the room, this adaptation has really brought this character to life.

9 Nashiro & Kurona

Via deviantart.com/kukuro-kun

These twin sisters are artificial one-eyed ghouls. Their clash with Juuzou highlighted Nashiro and Kurona's sisterly bond. Honoring that bond, kukuro-kun managed to fund someone that could pass off as her own sister, let alone a fictitious one, and they created this cosplay.

The pose they take in this picture really brings out the whole collaboration. The black on white contrast really makes each sister's outfit stand out, but the symmetrical eye contacts and masks really bring it together. The extra effort of having the lines being the correct orientation on the masks of each sister is also much appreciated.

8 Rize Kamishiro

Via deviantart.com/kazeplay

This is a very simple cosplay but kazeplay is truly the spitting image of Rize. Being the first ghoul to come into contact with Kaneki and essentially become part of him, Rize played a very important role in the series. She is first introduced as a simple girl reading a book in a coffee shop.

This cosplay is the perfect cover-up for the ghoul known to the CCG as the Binge Eater. The wig used is the perfect match, and the contacts paired with the glasses is a stunning look. Yumizu-Chan displays the innocent expression of Rize perfectly, who could suspect a face like that!

7 Suzuya Juuzou

Yumizu-Chan makes it back on the list with her Juuzou cosplay. Juuzou is a man but Yumizu-Chan cosplaying him really brings out the androgynous look he has on the show.

Juuzou has one of the most unstable personalities, having been kidnapped and raised as a pet by Big Madam. The painting of the stitches across her body is flawless, along with the wig that is styled to exactly match his hair. Pulling at the thread from her lips makes it really feel like Juuzou is in this image.

6 Ken Kaneki

Kaneki goes through very drastic personality changes throughout the show and his shifts in appearance reflect that. The most common cosplay of Kaneki is based on his design after he fights Jason and embraces his ghoul side and dons the white hair.

This, paired with his mask made by Uta, is such a symbolic representation of his character change from a timid boy to a sad ghoul. Umibe does a great job of bringing out this aspect in his cosplay of Kaneki. The mask is a perfect copy and the wig is even styled to part the same way that Kaneki's hair does. Finished with a single contact lens for the one-eyed ghoul, this is a job well done.

5 Touka

Not all cosplay are meant to be appreciated at conventions. This was created by AkabaRitsu, who brought to life her own version of Touka with the help of some amazing special effects. Touka is a ghoul trying to live a normal life among humans.

She attends school with her best friend Yoriko Kosaka and is desperately trying to fit in, earring her best friend's lunch even knowing that it will make her sick. AkabaRitsu embraces this school girl persona choosing a school uniform for this image. The special effects really bring out Touka's kagune, making for a great action shot pose.

4 Shuu Tsukiyama

Via twitter.com/44yuya44

Nicknamed The Gourmet for his standards in food, Shuu is an elegant ghoul. His elegance changes to crazed obsession when he first comes across Kaneki's scent. There are many notable scenes where he smells a handkerchief of Kaneki's blood and screams "HARMONY!!!"

This scene is perfectly depicted by Yu-Ya. He matches Shuu's attire and mimics his manic expression perfectly. The Gourmet is so obsessed with Kaneki's scent that, at one point later in the series, Shuu becomes depressed after learning about Kaneki's supposed death. Shuu becomes emaciated from anorexia and needs constant care from his family servants.

3 Saiko Yonebayasi

Saiko becomes one of the main characters later in the story when Kaneki joins the CCG and loses his memories, going by the name Haise Sasaki. She is part of a special Quinx squad made up of humans with built-in quinque in their bodies.

Saiko is a cute, short, chubby shut-in who hates working and _tokyotitan_ looks like she is ready for the live-action role. Getting the perfectly matched wig and makeup almost gives her an identical look. The extra effort that really makes this awesome is the hammer having the same color scheme and matching lines across the blue base.

2 Eto Yoshimura

Via deviantart.com/yumizu-chan

It's amazing how many characters one person can look like from a single series. Yumizu-Chan makes another appearance with her cosplay of Eto Yoshimura. She looks stunning in her re-creation but looks can be deceiving.

Eto is the one-eyed ghoul and the creator of the ghoul organization known as Aogiri Tree. She's the human-ghoul daughter of Yoshimura and Ukina. and a best selling horror novelist when she is using her human alias of Sen Takatsuki. With the maroon robe, Green hair and bandages wrapped around her forearms Yumizu-Chan creates a striking resemblance to Eto.

1 Arima Kishou & Haise Sasaki

Via worldcosplay.net

This tag-team Cosplay from MianMian and Takuwest brings out the relationship shared between this mentor and student. Arima was a special class ghoul inspector, widely known as the CCG's Reaper. Haise is the alter ego of Kaneki after he lost his memories and was taken to the CCG.

Arima took Haise under his wing in a scheme to pass down the title of the One-Eyed King to Kaneki. Haise has a good-natured and devoted personality, and this shot of him gleefully chasing after Arima with his stern expression is remindful of scenes between these characters. Add the dashing suits with the well-styled and colored wigs and this is a great cosplay.
