Fans of Toilet-bound Hanako-kun won't have to knock three times on the third stall to get their hands on the manga box set announced by Yen Press.Announced during Anime NYC, Yen Press revealed it would release a box set of the Toilet-bound Hanako-kun manga. The collection, called Toilet-bound Hanako-kun: First Stall, will come with the first ten volumes of the series, starting from the beginning and continuing all the way to the Picture Perfect arc. With a design intended to make it look like a Japanese school bathroom stall, the box features the Toilet-bound Hanako-kun logo, as well as spooky handprints and one of teen exorcist Kou's paper charms.RELATED: Buddy Daddies Anime Drops Intense Trailer, Revealing Cast and Release Date

TheOASG (@TheOASG) released pictures of the mock-up on Twitter, showcasing the box's wrap-around design and how readers can expect to open it to access the manga inside. One side of the box features the titular character, Hanako-kun, wearing his signature cap and school uniform as his haku-joudai float nearby. In the background, behind the ominous radio that broadcasts stories of the school's urban legends, is Hanako-kun's contractee Nene Yashiro as she stands uncertainly in front of his stall.

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun Is a Team Effort

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun is a manga written and illustrated by AidaIro, a team consisting of Aida, the illustrator of the series, and Iro, the writer. Serialized in Square Enix's Monthly GFantasy magazine since 2014, the manga is a collection of eighteen tankōbon volumes as of August 2022. The series received localization by Yen Press up to volume #16 in English as of October 2022.

Set in Kamome Academy, a school famous for its rumors regarding its Seven Wonders and other supernatural occurrences, the story follows Nene Yashiro, a first-year high school student who wants nothing more than a boyfriend. In her search for love, she goes to the third stall of the girl's bathroom to summon the ghost "Hanako-san" in hopes of getting a wish granted. Much to her surprise, "Hanako-san" turns out to be "Hanako-kun," a boy ghost with a dark past. After an unexpected turn of events, Nene finds herself with a new wish and spiritually bonds with Hanako-kun, becoming his assistant. Yashiro helps Hanako-kun destroy evil supernatural entities and assists him in manipulating school rumors to help maintain the balance between the spirit and human worlds. As she works closely with Hanako-kun, Yashiro finds herself caring deeply for the mysterious boy and wants to learn more about him.

There has yet to be a release date announced for the box set. However, Toilet-bound Hanako-kun volumes #1 - 16 are available for purchase at retailers such as Barnes and Noble or Target.
