While he attends the Middle School division of Kamome Academy and is the only middle schooler that is a main cast member besides Mitsuba Sousuke, he frequents the toilet and the High School division to hang out with Hanako and Nene. Here are ten facts fans may not know about Kou Minamoto.

10 His Type Of Girl

Kou is a middle school student, albeit one year away from high school, that is perhaps one of the purest characters in Toilet-bound Hanako-kun. In the notes of Volume 4, there are details and trivia about the character.

Within it, it states that Kou's preferred romantic interest would need to have a cute smile. This can explain the first encounter between him and Nene.

9 He Is A Great Cook

It turns out that aside from his appearance that would suggest otherwise, Kou is a great cook. He can also make donuts from scratch, which is quite a feat. This is because his older brother Teru is horrid at housework, so it is left to him most of the time.

His domestic skills can be seen in the episode he and Nene make donuts for Hanako, as it is his favorite snack.

8 He Dotes On His Sister

Although the anime did not delve into Kou's backstory or a lot of the other characters, it did mention that he had a younger sister. While Teru is the oldest, Kou is the middle child, with the youngest being his 5-year-old sister Tiara.

Despite the fact that his younger sister has even more spiritual power than Teru at her young ageーand perhaps even Kouーhe is said to dote on her a lot.

7 He Can Do Housework

Aside from being a great cook, as well as baker, Kou takes care of most of the housework as well. He cooks, cleans, and is very caring for those he loves, including his family.

While most would mistake Kou as a delinquent because of his brash attitude, one thing is for sureーhe sure can clean.

6 He Wears An Omamori

An omamori is a Japanese amulet that is commonly sold at Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples that is meant to provide one with luck and protection. For some reason, Kou wears one in his right ear with the word "traffic" on it.

While there is no reason given for this, he perhaps wears this to protect himself from getting into any accidents. He is even called "Hella-Lam, Traffice-Safety Earing Boy" by Mitsuba because of the odd words on it.

5 He Has Some Spiritual Power

As a member of the Minamoto Clan, a generation-long family of exorcists, Kou has enough spiritual power to exorcise supernaturals. While he cannot exorcise Hanako because of how strong he is, that does not mean he cannot exorcise other supernaturals.

Kou can use his staff, called Raiteijou, to turn his spiritual energy into lightning. The one downside is that he does not understand how to completely use it, which in turn electrocutes him every time he utilizes this power.

4 He Has A Crush On Nene At First

Kou's preferred type of girl is someone who has a cute smile, and Nene's bright one shot right through his heart the moment he met herーliterally.

When Kou was going to exorcise Hanako and Nene appeared, he was momentarily distracted from his goal. Even afterward, he acted awkwardly around her, although he acts normal now.

3 His Favorite Snack Is Sweet Potato Jelly

Every character in Toilet-bound Hanako-kun has a favorite snack, from Hanako loving donuts to Nene loving strawberry-filled rice cakes. In this case, Kou's favorite snack is none other than sweet potato jelly.

It only takes 20 minutes to whip up if making the sweet treat from scratch, and as Kou is shown to be a great cook and baker, he has probably made it for himself.

2 He Does Not Believe All Supernaturals Are Evil

Kou is from the Minamoto Clan, which believes all supernaturals are evil. Even the innocent-appearing Mokke are deemed as creatures that deserve to be treated horridly, as Teru often bullies them.

However, after meeting Hanako and speaking with him, Kou does not hold the belief that all of them are horrid, evil creatures as he was taught.

1 He Was Tasked To Destroy All Seven Mysteries

As Kou's older brother who is a seasoned exorcist, Teru is the oldest of the siblings and the one who tasked Kou with exorcising Hanako.  Teru loves both his little brother and younger sister, but he is quite sadistic when it comes to exorcising supernaturals.

Although Kou still has not done his job when it comes to erasing Hanako, it is nonetheless still a mission he must carry out eventually.
