Todd McFarlane has debuted a new character in a tweet to promote the latest issue of his series, Spawn."SPAWN 306 IS OUT TODAY!" McFarlane tweeted. "As you know... Philip Tan has returned to the Spawn book as artist and is joining me in introducing a NEW Spawn mythos character," the writer and artist wrote. He then introduced Raptor, but remained vague on whether or not the new character would be a friend or foe. McFarlane ended the tweet by saying, "His story unfolds in the next three issues. Enjoy and be safe."RELATED: McFarlane Debuts First Spawn Pages by Philip Tan, Including a New Character

In the preview McFarlane provided in the tweet -- apparently the final page of the issue -- Raptor says, "At last, I'm face-to-face with the monster who killed our future. And if there's any possibility of getting it back the only way to trigger that is through your death!" It seems as though the figure clutching Raptor's head is Spawn, but at this point, nothing is certain. McFarlane's tweet suggested that Raptor could be friend or foe.

Spawn #306, by Todd McFarlane and Philip Tan, debuted on March 20 and is on sale now from Image Comics.
