WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #111 by Kevin Eastman, Tom Waltz, Sophie Campbell, Jodi Nishijima, Ronda Pattison and Shawn Lee, on sale now.

Mutant Town is not a kind little borough right now, especially not for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Old Hob is reeling from losing the mutant children he had recently captured, and not sure what exactly to do, he sends his spies to the turtles' dojo to scope things out. The Splinter Clan knows what's coming their way, though, and they know just what to do. Invoking the greatest sadist of the 1990s, the Turtles fortify their home with everything they need to stay several steps ahead of their invaders. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles just went full-on Kevin McCallister.

Raphael is livid at the prospect of Hob's spies walking right into their home, but Leo knows that it's the best way to get the drop on them. With proper countermeasures in place -- not to mention the home-field advantage -- the de facto leader of the Turtles knows that they won't have any trouble ridding themselves of their unwelcome visitors. The doorbell rings, interrupting their huddle, and while Raph goes to see who it is the rest of the Turtles get to work putting together their traps. Sally has come looking for someone to talk to, but Raphael sends her away, not wanting her to get caught up in what's about to go down.

It isn't paint cans or homemade flamethrowers, but the Turtles are able to put together something a little bit more professional than the slapstick amateur booby traps from Home Alone. Leo lays tripwires and nets while the others prepare sleeping powder, caltrops, and trap doors for Hob's spies. It isn't long before the two invaders make their way inside and split up, one going upstairs and the other checking out the ground floor. When the octopus mutant hits a tripwire, he manages to catch himself before going down too hard, but Leo and Donnie are waiting behind a false wall to grab him and drag him away. One down, one to go.

One of the kids sneaks a peak from their hiding spot, alerting their position to the other intruder. The spy finds them, but before he can call it in, Michelangelo is on him. When the spy pulls a gun, Jennika jumps into the fray and the two Turtles take him down with their combined might, a net and some good old fashioned sleeping powder. The fight is over, the kids are safe, and the night is still young. Now that they've successfully defended their turf, it's time for the Turtles to send a message.

Old Hob paces in frustration, worried about his spies that should have been back well before now. With no contact from either of them, he has no idea what to think, but he needs to know where Leonardo took the child mutants that he rescued from Hob in last month's issue.  Old Hob is especially on edge after not shooting Leo when he had the chance last time. Out the window and across the street from his base of operations, Old Hob's lackey tells him that the other two are right outside. When Hob looks, he sees them tied up and hanging from a lamppost. It isn't a declaration of war, but rather a reminder that the turtles are not to be messed with, especially not in their own home.
