Pre-orders for IDW Publishing's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin #1 are so high, the book is already going back for a second printing, and will now feature black-and-white variant cover.

IDW commissioned the variant as a thank you to thank comic retailers, with pre-orders for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin #1 having exceeded 130,000 copies. The "Thank You" variant by TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman will also feature a foil logo cover. The second printing of The Last Ronin #1 will feature a colored version of the variant.

"The foundation and evolution of the story that would become The Last Ronin took 30 years to naturally and organically arrive at the proper place to be told. That time is now," Eastman said in a press release. "Buckle up, TMNT fans -- it's going to be one hell of a ride."

Set in the distant future, The Last Ronin follows the last Ninja Turtle on his journey through New York City as he seeks justice for his fallen family and friends. Eastman and TMNT co-creator Peter Laird conceived The Last Ronin's story approximately 30 years ago. Tom Waltz, who wrote the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles relaunch for IDW, will join Eastman as co-writer on the miniseries.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin #1, by Kevin Eastman, Peter Laird, Tom Waltz, Esau Escorza and Issac Escorza, goes on sale Oct. 28 from IDW Publishing. The second printing arrives on Dec. 2.
