It's no secret that fans had mixed opinions of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows." Some lauded the impressive action sequences, while others derided its incoherent plot and weak characterization. Screen Junkies' Honest Trailers wastes little time wading into the harsh criticism for the film in their newest video, flatly stating that the movie, for all its so-called improvements, "still kinda sucked."

The critiques aren't limited to mere insults, though. The trailer explains how the film's producers incorporated changes based on fan reactions from the first movie (more Ninja Turtles, more classic cartoon series characters, less April) but still failed in getting audiences to want to see the film. The answer? According to Honest Trailers, it was lazy writing, pure and simple.

After noting that the movie Turtles look more akin to "CGI 'roid monsters" than actual reptiles, the trailer also takes a few digs at the actors who appeared in the film. They aim a particularly hard shot at Steve Amell for his "bumbling" portrayal of Casey Jones. The trailer even manages to throw in a clever observation about the plethora of recent films that have included the same special effects for their final act.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows," is now available on digital release, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
