WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Titans Season 1, streaming now on DC Universe.

The first season of Titans ended on a cliffhanger, with Rachel's demonic father Trigon having taken control of Dick Grayson, leaving it unclear what the next move may be for members of the fledgling team.

It's only the latest in a series of obstacles encountered by the heroes in a debut season in which they've largely been on the run, and on their heels. But with the introduction of allies like Hawk and Dove, Jason Todd and the Doom Patrol, and the confirmation of Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman and, yes, Conner Kent and Krypto, the door is open to a much larger DC Universe in Season 2. Here's what we hope to see.

MORE TITANS ASSEMBLING

With Rachel (Teagan Croft) sending out psychic distress call in Episode 9, we'd love to see Hawk (Alan Ritchson), Dove (Minka Kelly), Jason Todd (Curran Walters) and Donna Troy, aka Wonder Girl (Conor Leslie) stick around to help to fill out the ranks of the Titans.

What would be even more intriguing is if the original members from the comic books were to come into play. Aqualad could enter the fray, riding the wave of Aquaman's success, with further momentum provided by Kid Flash, shaping an older version of DC's first Teen Titans. This grounded superhero universe would be a great fit for a Roy Harper, who's transitioned in the comics from the hopeful Speedy into the ruthless Arsenal.

TRIGON UNLEASHED

Trigon on Titans

We didn't mind waiting for Trigon to arrive, even in his human form, but we need to see him become a full-on interdimensional demon, literally raising hell.

Sure, we get that there are budgetary constraints, but if Titans is to differentiate its mystical elements from shows like Supernatural, it needs to unleash Trigon's devilish side, something only teased with the hologram on Starfire's ship. Apart from his monstrous figure, we'd also like to see him use his full array of demonic powers, and not merely his mental abilities. Trigon can change size, fire blasts of energy, manipulate matter, and so on, so hopefully he cuts loose soon (and no, not the way Smallville attempted with Darkseid).

OPERATION: CADMUS

With the introduction of Conner Kent and Krypto in the season finale, the show is perfectly poised to follow the Young Justice animated series with the nefarious research facility CADMUS as a major antagonist. The Titans could even make it a high-priority mission to recruit Conner and turn him away from the weapon he was engineered to be.

Exploring CADMUS offers great potential, because who knows what other projects its scientists have been cooking up in secret. This could even bring villains like Lex Luthor into play. But most of all, it offers a chance at Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) and Superboy forming the partnership Batman and Superman no longer have after the mysterious fallout referenced on the series. The presence of CADMUS further opens the door to metahumans and extraterrestrials, which could provide new threats and allies in the battles to come.

THE RISE OF NIGHTWING

In the episode "Asylum," after instructing Starfire (Anna Diop) to destroy the facility operated by the mysterious Organization, and all of the people within, Dick left his Boy Wonder identity behind, paving the way a new hero to rise. However, as Dick told Donna, he wants to remain a vigilante, which Season 2 should capitalize on by finally having him suit up as Nightwing.

Many were expecting that to occur late in Season 1, as the path was laid out with the premiere episode. However, it's an easy to envision him adopting the new identity, and the blue-and-black costume, after his encounter with Trigon. His season-long arc, from his declaration of "Fuck Batman" in the series premiere to the bleak dreamscape of the finale, has been about breaking with Bruce Wayne and finding himself, so donning a new costume and identity unconnected to the Dark Knight could be the biggest statement Dick could make.

THE BAT-FAMILY SHOWDOWN

Titans Season 1 finale

We've been teased long enough with the poisoned relationship between Dick Grayson and Bruce Wayne. We've seen a lot of Bruce as a ghost in Dick life, so it's about time we get them face to face. It would be a big mistake to drag this feud beyond a second season, and after embracing his own demons, Season 2 needs to have Dick come clean in a brutally honest conversation with his mentor.

Seeing as Dick sought help from Alfred Pennyworth early in the season, a heart to heart should also involve the butler, not only as a mediator, but because he's been such a prominent father-figure to both. There's a lot of pent-up rage, so a showdown -- not necessarily a violent one -- would be a great payoff. What would make it even more epic is if it's a forgiven Batman offers his blessing to Nightwing, easing Dick out of his shadow.

Now streaming on DC Universe, Titans stars Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Kory Anders, Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth and Ryan Potter as Garfield Logan, and guest starring Rachel Nichols as Angela, Seamus Dever as Trigon, Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger, Alan Ritchson as Hank Hall and Curran Walters as Jason Todd.
