DC’s Titans TV Show Reportedly Looking to Cast Hawk and Dove

According to a new report, the live-action Titans is looking to add Hawk and Dove to the show’s existing roster of Nightwing, Raven, Starfire and Beast Boy. In addition to the heroic duo, the show may also be searching for an actress to play Amy Rohrbach.

Alan Ritchson and Rebecca Rittenhouse are in line to play Hawk and Dove, respectively, according to That Hashtag Show. The character description for Dove reveals a bit about their relationship: “She straddles the world of being a thrill-seeking and do-gooding vigilante, along with being her crime fighting partner’s emotional anchor and caregiver. She loves him, but fears what he’s become…”

Ritchson is a superhero show vet, having played Arthur Curry, better known as Aquaman, in his stint  Smallville. Since then, he’s taken on the role of Raphael in the rebooted Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie series.

The report is clear to remind fans that these castings are not confirmed, it’s more of an indication as to the type of actors they’re hoping will fill the roles.

The aforementioned role of Amy Rohrbach is an interesting one; she’s a character from the 1990s, appearing in Nightwing comics. DC is reportedly looking for a female aged 25-35 to play Detective Rohrbach, with the casting call revealing “she is the detective alongside Dick Grayson who knows more than she lets on. Pretty, has tattoos.” In the comics Rohrback appeared in, Grayson was an undercover member of the corrupt Blüdhaven Police Department.

The Titans are described as “a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire, Raven and others.” A live-action Titans series had been in development at TNT before being shelved by the cable channel in 2014. However, Johns pledged in early 2015 that DC still had plans for the project. The series went into production in the last couple of months, as confirmed on twitter by Johns.

Titans will be executive produced by Johns, Goldsman, Berlanti and Sarah Schechter (Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, Supergirl). The series will air on Warner Bros’ new DC Comics-branded digital platform that will launch in 2018. No official release date has yet been announced.
