The following contains spoilers for Titans Season 4, Episode 6 "Brother Blood," which is streaming on HBO Max.

DC is heading in a new direction and becoming DC Studios. The new studio is going to be under the control of James Gunn and Peter Safran. This makes it likely that Titans is in its final days and Season 4 certainly feels like it is. The newest season of the series feels like a messy mixture of plots and character arcs that don't at all mesh together. The messy feeling of the season adds to the feeling that the show is in the final countdown and the creative teams are making the most of it.

Titans started in 2018 as a part of the launch of multiple DC shows on the DC Universe app, then later HBO Max. Yet, as the era of DC Studios approaches, it becomes more and more likely that the series is done after Season 4. James Gunn has made it clear that he is looking to create a fully connected universe, including movies, television and even video games. Titans is in its final days and each new episode feels like they're throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks.

Titans Season 4 Is Full of Wasted Potential

Titans' Raven is in her White Raven form

Titans has never been a series that has received raving reviews or massive fan adoration. It has survived on a few great moments and the good will of audiences that are desperate to see these characters in live action. Titans was the best that was available, and it filled a void that fans had wanted for so long. While each actor brought a lot to the roles, the rest of the show never kept pace with their performances. Each season felt like a half finished story that was almost immediately forgotten at the start of the following season.

Season 4 has been a continual mess of character arcs, villainous plots, and far too many minor stories. The writing mess of Season 4 certainly makes it feel like this will be the final season of the show. Each new element that is introduced seems like the creative team is wanting to bring all their ideas to life, but they're running out of time to do it. There is enough plot in the first six episodes of Season 4 to be spread out over a couple of seasons. It feels like there have been more Justice League and DC hero references and that each hero can appear at any time.

Titans Season 4's Storylines Point to the Series' End

Titans Season 4 team shot

DC Studios is looking to make a fresh start, away from Titans, The CW shows and the Snyderverse. Ending the show allows these iconic characters to be re-imagined in different media and get a better treatment then they have on the show. While these versions of the characters will always hold a place in some peoples hearts, there are undoubtedly people who can give these heroes the stories they deserve and allow them to interact with more and more characters.

While it hasn't been confirmed by the studio or HBO Max, it's very likely that Titans is over. The show had a decent run, but it's time for the show to end, and the creative team knows that. Season 4 has felt like everything is being thrown into the show in hopes of making a big splash. Yet, it keeps watering down each of the characters and their actions within the show. If Titans is in its final days, then it's trying to go out in a big way.
