WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Titans, streaming now on DC Universe.

One of the biggest questions on everyone's minds once Titans was announced was whether or not we'd see the Justice League appearing, or at least DC's main trinity of Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman. Well, so far, we know Bruce Wayne exists thanks to Dick Grayson/Robin's "Fuck Batman" line, multiple flashbacks surrounding the young acrobat's adoption after his family's death, and Dick contacting Alfred for help. Heck, even the Joker got a namedrop in the first episode, firmly establishing Titans' Gotham City in our imagination, even if we have yet to spend any sort of meaningful time there.

But beyond that, the series has focused mostly on other DC characters, such as Hawk, Dove, Doom Patrol, and, of course, the Titans themselves. Even though we're a mere four episodes into the series, you have to wonder whether Superman or Wonder Woman will play into the storyline at all, eve if only via a name drop. In this universe, do these big-hitters even exist? Given what we've seen so far, it doesn't seem to be the case.

If these characters existed, we'd have probably heard about them by now. You can't help but feel that Superman, in particular, as a godlike alien would surely have been namedropped by Dick, especially given his view that Batman has gone off the edge and is on a violent streak. This pushed Robin into a solo career, and it just doesn't seem that the Dark Knight would be this cruel and vengeful in a world where Superman exists.

Now, it could be that Batman and Superman haven't met, and the World's Finest duo (and by extension, the Justice League) simply doesn't exist. But with Dick constantly monitoring the air waves, things like Metropolis, a mild-mannered reporter named Clark Kent or news of the Kryptonian should have popped up already.

As for Wonder Woman, well, this one's a bit trickier given her historical ties to Donna Troy, herself confirmed as a character on the series. We've seen Donna referenced in Dick's phone contacts, and possibly in an old photo, but so far, there's nothing indicating she'll be or has ever been Wonder Girl. But original codename aside, there's no reason she has to be tied to DC's most famous Amazon. In the comics, her backstory has been changed multiple times, oftentimes distancing her from her original Themyscirian roots, so when Titans does go into her background, it doesn't have to make her a vigilante with ties to Wonder Woman or someone imbued with powers after being adopted by Amazons. In short, Titans can easily leave Diana of Themyscira out of its reality.

Like Superman, you would expect at least one of the heroes we've met so far would have mentioned Wonder Woman. If not in casual conversation at the police station Dick works, then by the Doom Patrol's leader, Niles Caulder. As a man fascinated with science, aliens and the unknown, he would surely have brought up these powerhouses when talking about his wards and the world they inhabit up if Superman and Wonder Woman were around.

Of course, we could be completely misreading the tea leaves, here. The Amazons could easily be worked in later on in the series, as well as the gods of Olympus, considering Titans is tackling the supernatural through Raven's (Teagan Croft) story about fleeing a cult. Similarly, unless there's a major twist in Starfire's story, it would appear her comic book background as an alien has made the leap to television in some form, opening the doors for a potential Kryptonian revelation at some point. But for now, it's probably safest to assume Robin, Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy are operating in a world where Batman stands atop the superhero community alone.

Now streaming on DC Universe, Titans stars Brenton Thwaites as Robin, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven and Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, with April Bowlby as Rita Farr, Jake Michaels and Brendan Fraser as Clifford Steele, Jake Michaels and Matt Bomer as Larry Trainor, and Bruno Bichir as Dr. Niles Caulder, aka The Chief.
