Just as Titans Season 2 lands on DC Universe, the superhero series' showrunner teased that fans will finally see Dick Grayson take on his iconic Nightwing persona.

Speaking to ComicBook.com, showrunner Greg Walker discussed Dick's evolution into Nightwing and admitted, "It's in the shadows, so stay tuned if you really want Nightwing information this season." But don't expect to see Brenton Thwaites suit up as Nightwing in the premiere episode: "I think you'll be satisfied by the end of the year."

Discussing Dick's relationship with Batman, Walker said, "For Dick, he was omnipresent and it felt like we really needed to dive into Dick's relationship with Bruce to really understand Dick better." This will be explored further in Season 2, as Iain Glen's aged Dark Knight has a bigger part to play. Walker continued, "We wanted to work on Bruce Wayne trying to restore that relationship with Dick in a way get back to an updated version of father and son."

Although Nightwing hasn't (officially) appeared in the Titans trailers yet, Titans is expected to take characters like Dick Grayson, Raven and Starfire closer to their comic book source material and give the heroes a new wardrobe of costumes. New characters include the likes of Superboy, Aqualad and Deathstroke, which will likely be part of Grayson's emergence from the shadow of Batman.
