The following contains spoilers for Titans Season 4, Episode 4, "Super Super Mart," now streaming on HBO Max.

Titans just resurrected the team's deadliest enemy, Deathstroke, and there's a twist.

The legendary supervillain returns in the HBO Max show's latest episode, "Super Super Mart," in which he's brought back to life as a zombie by Mother Mayhem (Franka Potente). Zombie Deathstroke is one of several undead minions controlled by Mother Mayhem, all of whom attack the Titans at her command. Aside from Deathstroke's involvement, the ensuing action set piece is notable for taking place in the same abandoned asylum that the team burned down in Titans Season 1.

Resurrecting Deathstroke further cements Mother Mayhem as one of the most credible threats the Titans have ever faced. So far this season, she's killed Superman's arch-nemesis Lex Luthor (Titus Welliver), set Sebastian Sangre (Joseph Morgan) on the path to becoming Brother Blood and even fought the entire Titan's roster to a standstill. During this confrontation, she depowered Raven (Teagan Croft), channeling the young superhero's mystical abilities into a stone. Mother Mayhem subsequently hints at a shared history between herself and Raven, a connection explored more fully in "Super Super Mart."

Jinx Casts Her Spell on Titans Season 4

There's more than one new, morally dubious magic user on the scene in Titans Season 4, too. Lisa Ambalavanar also joined the cast this season as Jinx, based on the villainous sorceress of the same name from the show's DC Comics source material. Ambalavanar is quick to point out that the Titans version of Jinx is less of an outright antagonist than her comic book counterpart, though. "I don't think [Jinx] is a big bad villain like some of the ones you get," she said. "Our showrunner, Greg Walker, has even described her very clearly and openly as being chaotic neutral -- somewhere in the middle of bouncing between the two sides. She's almost her own entity."

Titans fourth season also recently namedropped John Constantine, confirming that the fan-favorite occult detective and conman exists in the show's continuity. Jinx mentions Constantine in Titans Season 4, Episode 3, "Jinx," while recapping her backstory. While this will no doubt lead some fans to speculate that Constantine star could be set to make a cameo at some point in Titans' future, there's currently no evidence to suggest this is the case.

New episodes of Titans Season 4 arrive on HBO Max on Wednesdays.
