What's bad news for the DC Universe is good news for fans. Titans returns from its sabbatical in the wake of Justice League: No Justice, as Nightwing recruits a new team to help him tackle the fallout of DC's summer mega-event.
Titans writer Dan Abnett remains on the series, where he's joined by artist Brandon Peterson to show what happens when Dick Grayson recruits Donna Troy, Raven, Steel (John Henry's niece, Natasha Irons, taking up the name once again), Beast Boy and Miss Martian to deal with the "Metagene pandemic" rolling across the DCU thanks to the events of No Justice. Ryan Sook and Peterson will provide covers for the series.
How this will link to Nightwing's team in Justice League: No Justice, which he'll co-lead alongside Amanda Waller, remains a mystery at this point. Also unknown is how Titans will be affected by Teen Titans #20. The Robin-led incarnation of the classic group of young DC heroes will make its debut a few weeks ahead of Dick's team, and the Titans solicitation text promises that what happens in Damian's title will directly affect Nightwing and his crew.
In addition to the heroes listed in the solicitation text, the cover art features another, as-yet unidentified character. Whether he'll prove to be another member of the team, one of the new enemies the solicits promise or is simply there to represent the growing number of people afflicted by the Metagene outbreak is unknown, but he does occupy a suspiciously prominent position on Peterson's cover art.
