WARNING: The following contains minor spoilers for The CW's "Crisis on Infinite Earths."

The premiere episode of The CW's "Crisis on Infinite Earths" focused on the threat of the antimatter wave sweeping through the Multiverse, with an opening sequence that featured Earth-66 (famous for the Batman '66 TV series) and Earth-89 (belonging to the Tim Burton's movies). One major surprise, however, was the appearance of  Titans' Jason Todd (Curran Walter) and Hawk (Alan Ritchson) on Earth-9.

The attention this scene received from viewers reiterates how much DC Universe's Titans swould benefit from joining an Arrowverse crossover in a more substantial role.

We know it would be a logistical nightmare to include Titans in an Arrowverse event, because the DC Universe's streaming shows operate on their own schedules. Heck, even getting Black Lightning on the crossover was a challenge. So while we could understand why it wouldn't be easy to have the Titans appear in a crossover, there would be a lot to gain, brand-wise, from doing so.

First, while Titans has a different vibe as a TV show because it's R-rated, the grimier parts of the Arrowverse would still be a great ground for them to land in. They would just have to refrain from using profanity and there... easy fix. Jason and other street-level vigilantes such as Hawk and Dove would fit right into the world of Batwoman, while we could see Dick Grayson/Nightwing joining leaders such as Green Arrow, The Flash or even Superman. Actor Brenton Thwaites can pull off cheery, after all, so it's just a matter of finding the right pocket of the Arrowverse for these usually-bleak heroes.

Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy could fit into The Flash or Legends of Tomorrow, which tend to focus on cosmic events as well as the supernatural realm. And Superboy/Conner Kent could tie into Supergirl or the upcoming series Superman & Lois with Tyler Hoechlin's Man of Steel.

The point is the Titans could successfully interact with more lighthearted characters as they did when they crossed over with DC Universe's Doom Patrol. This would expand the Titans world by increasing its narrative possibilities while also growing the series' audience. Network TV still has a lot of pull, and while the audience numbers for DC Universe shows are kept under wraps, a Titans appearance in the Arrowverse could bring more users to the streaming platform. In fact, the move could also benefit the Arrowverse because a Titans crossover would surely result in a ratings boost for whatever Arrowverse shows they appeared on.

In other words, a crossover would only result in viewer numbers going up. Simply put, there's no reason to confine Nightwing's charges to DC Universe. For years, this was the case with Batman but Kevin Conroy's depiction of Bruce Wayne in "Crisis on Infinite Earths" drew more eyes and caused the ratings for Batwoman's episode of the crossover to go up.

Fans want a more connected universe, even if it's just for a cameo or a couple nights, making crossovers throughout DC TV a win-win for marketing as well as content. All that's needed is the proper story, and the Titans are so diverse in terms of age, look and feel, that the Arrowverse can cherry-pick exactly who it wants to appear alongside its cadre of heroes.

Titans includes people of color, young heroes, older bitter heroes, aliens and magical entities in its camp, so if schedules can be worked out, it's worth sending some of these characters to the Arrowverse to enrich the stories of both properties. Multiverse-hopping would, after all, broaden the Titans' horizons and remind the heroes they're not alone and that, whether they like it or not, the stakes are always higher than they usually think in the DC TV multiverse.

"Crisis on Infinite Earths" continues after the winter hiatus, when the crossover will conclude on Tuesday, Jan. 14 in Arrow at 8 p.m. ET/PT and in DC's Legends of Tomorrow at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
