SPOILER WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for "Dick Grayson," the Titans Season 1 finale, streaming now on DC Universe.

Titans surprised fans by debuting two fan-favorite characters in the post-credits scene of its Season 1 finale, and while one is strongly hinted at being Conner Kent, also known as Superboy, the second is more than likely Krypto, Superman's best friend.

The official DCUTitans Twitter account posted a photo from the post-credits scene featuring Krypto, which gives off a horror movie vibe -- especially within the context of his possible greenlit Kryptonite cage.

In the scene, we watch a muscular silhouette of a man tearing through a Cadmus facility, a comic book reference to an organization known for its questionable ethics and experiments. He also takes the time to free Krypto from captivity, whose eyes flash an ominous red before the scene ends.

Krypto’s first official appearance was in a Superboy story in Adventure Comics #210, although the Titans version will most likely take inspiration from the third incarnation of the character featured in the Return to Krypton storyline. Krypto possesses similar abilities to Superman, including heat vision, but with a canine’s intellect which could be a blessing or a curse depending on the situation. Although he had a rocky relationship with both Supergirl and even Superboy, Krypto and Conner grew very close. Krypto would even willingly put himself in harm’s way to protect him.

The Titans finale left the team fractured with the summoned Trigon having swayed Dick Grayson under his control, to his daughter Raven's horror as Beast Boy, Starfire, and Wonder Girl wait outside, separated by a magical barrier. With the second season renewed and reported to starting filming in February next year, we will have to wait and see if Superboy and Krypto will become a part of the team or featured in separate, yet intersecting storyline.
