Fan-favorite vigilante and one of the breakout stars of DC Universe's Titans TV show, Jason Todd, has been upgraded to a Season 2 regular.
ComicBook.com confirmed the news with Warner Bros., which leaves fans wondering exactly what role he'll play in the team next season. Portrayed by Curran Walters, the young Jason made his presence felt as the brash successor to Brenton Thwaites' Robin. He helped Dick Grayson track the Trigon cult and exact revenge on Nick Zucco's criminal organization.
However, Dick didn't agree with Jason's bloody brand of vigilantism, which involved beating up cops and becoming a rogue that wasn't befitting of the Robin mantle. Jason was last seen in a nightmare sequence where he was crippled and in a wheelchair, setting Dick off on a hallucinatory journey to fight Batman in the season finale.
Given that Dick's now been consumed by Trigon's darkness, it stands to reason Jason will be helping the Titans, as well as the likes of Hawk and Dove, bring the hero back to the light. With the Deathstroke family also factoring in, Season 2 may also result in a Robin alliance we never saw coming.
Now streaming on DC Universe, Titans' first season stars Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Kory Anders, Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth and Ryan Potter as Garfield Logan, with Rachel Nichols as Angela, Seamus Dever as Trigon, Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger, Alan Ritchson as Hank Hall and Curran Walters as Jason Todd. Season 2 will air in Fall 2019.
