DC's Titans was canceled alongside Doom Patrol with the announcement that both shows would end their runs after their current fourth seasons. According to reports, the producers of both series "saw the writing on the wall" due to all the changes going on at DC, and they were able to craft conclusions that should give closure to fans.

In a statement, HBO Max said, "While these will be the final seasons of Titans and Doom Patrol, we are proud of these series and excited for fans to see their climatic endings." Titans showrunner Greg Walker also shared, "I'm immensely proud of our gifted cast, crew and writing staff and their efforts in bringing to life all 49 episodes over the last five-plus years.

DC's Titans Was a Critical Success

Created by Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns and Greg Berlanti, Titans is based on the DC Comics superhero team the Teen Titans. The show followed a group of young heroes who join forces in their fight against crime. Premiering in 2018, the series ran its first and second seasons on the now-defunct DC Universe while its third and fourth seasons shifted over to the HBO Max streaming service. Titans featured an ensemble cast including Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Ryan Potter, Curran Walters, Conor Leslie, Alan Ritchson, Minka Kelly, Chelsea Zhang, Joshua Orpin and Jay Lycurgo.

Titans has been generally well-received by critics. For comparison, Season 1 registered a 78 percent fresh rating on the review aggregate Rotten Tomatoes, while Season 2 increased to 81 percent. Season 3 saw the show's best critical scores with a mighty 100 percent fresh rating and many critics praising bold storylines, characters and more.

Titans Season 4, Part 2 is slated to air on HBO Max at some point in 2023.
