Titans and Doom Patrol are sharing the Javits Center Main Stage at New York Comic Con 2022 as they share what fans can expect their upcoming fourth seasons.

Moderated by TV Guide's Damian Holbrook, for the panels' guests in attendance, from Titans are actor Brenton Thwaites (Nightwing), Ryan Potter (Beast Boy), Joshua Orpin (Superboy) and showrunner Greg Walker, while Doom Patrol's actors Brendan Fraser (Robotman), April Bowlby (Rita Farr), Michelle Gomez (Madame Rouge) and Joivan Wade (Cyborg) are also present. The cast of Doom Patrol is up first and will be followed by Titans, both shows revealing first looks and exclusive reveals for their respective fourth seasons.

"Are you ready?" the warm-up yelled, as moderator and TV Guide's Andy Swimm took to the stage. The panel begins.

First on stage from Doom Patrol was Gomez, followed by Wade, Bowlby and Fraser. Each was met with thunderous applause, with fans breaking out in a standing ovation for Fraser.

Wade said that this was the first Comic Con with the four of them together. Fraser praised co-star Diane Guerrero, who isn't present.

Bowlby was asked about Rita stepping up as the leader of the Doom Patrol. "I'm really proud of Rita," the actor said, continuing, "She is great in the role, she has a superhero costume...I think she loves it, and she progresses into a true leader by the end of Season 4, I'll say."

Swimm asked the rest of the panel if their characters could be leader. Wade said Vic tried towards the start. "Cliff's just glad to tag along," Fraser said of Robotman. Gomez simply said "No" for Rouge being leader, but noted that she's "happy to be part of the family."

Gomez continued to speak on Madame Rouge, joking about how she never got a time machine in Doctor Who, but finally got one in Doom Patrol. "I was completely blown away," she said of her Doom Patrol co-stars. "I felt like I fit."

The moderator asked about why they gravitated to their heroes, Wade saying that "Every kid dreams of being a superhero" when talking about playing Cyborg. He brought up how in an episode of Season 3, Victor Stone/Cyborg cannot find a Black superhero toy, speaking on his own experience as a kid in real life and how he now is playing a superhero for kids today to look up to.

Bowlby said she liked Rita because of her past and history, saying that "she's been through it." She continued, "I got to embody that and grow with it."

Brendan said, "Not to lie, I'm just kinda glad to have a job. It's a pretty good job too." He shouted out Robotman's stand-in actor Riley Shanahan and Robotman's awesome wardrobe, as well as it being great that he just has to record audio at times. "It's a good gig, I love the dialogue...the copious use of F-bombs." He asked the crowd if there was an odometer for who on the show has the most F-bombs.

Fraser continued to speak on his love for the show, talking about the rivalry between Cyborg and Robotman and how Cliff views Vic as an upgraded phone compared to himself.

The Robotman praised Shanahan even more, talking about how stand-in actors are great as visual and facial movement comedy. "All I really needed to do-- I really feel like I am there," Fraser said of recording his lines and not needing to be on-set all the time.

Wade spoke on the challenges of playing Cyborg, including needing to learn how to act with only one eye, wrapping up his explanation with a "Boo-yah," one of Cyborg's more commonly known catchphrases.

Gomez talked on how she didn't find her experience "challenging" but that it was just "phenomenal" that she was there on the show, agreeing with Fraser's earlier comment that she is grateful to have a job.

Bowlby said that "Every episode is challenging," talking on how the show's writers always come up with something different for Doom Patrol. "It's not a precedural [show]," Bowbly said to highlight how the show doesn't repeat the same stories week to week.

Fraser asked Bowlby and Gomez about their characters' rivalry, and Gomez's response about how their characters size each other up (using the exact term of "sniff each other's butts") caused Bowbly to laugh and not know what to say next. "She's an actriss," Bowbly eventually said after more words from Gomez, talking on how they find their own way to deliver the dialogue written for them.

Gomez admitted that one of her few challenged was "being professional." She also said that sometimes they are handed pages for scenes they have to do in ten minutes during COVID-19 filming, saying that was the real challenge working on the show.

Wade asked about portraying Vic in the recent season without his powers and cybernetics. "That has really been a part of the journey...and what it means to be human," Wade said of the hero and his recent experiences. He spoke on Vic standing up to his father on the show, Silas Stone, and his growth. "He was human first," Wade said, saying that he has tried to portray Vic as "human first" after viewing the character that way growing up with and watching the Teen Titans animated show.

When asked about what powers they would want, Wade said he would want Vic's powers. Gomez talked about wanting the ability to turn into a bird, something she wanted at times in her youth. "Something elegant," she specified, "Not a f---ing raven...I would want to fly." Bowlby said she would like Rita's powers to grow and extend herself.

Fraser and Bowlby then talked on the sad nature of Rita's powers and how she can get embarrassed by not being able to control them at times. Gomez compared Rita's experience to aging and losing the way you used to look, and how the character serves as commentary of accepting someone's self as they are.

"Sign us up!" Fraser answered for the next question asking how they react to the show's crazy scripts each time they get them. "It's just a great opportunity," Wade said, saying he loved the chance to dance in the show. Gomez accidentally revealed that someone in the show has a solo dance scene coming up in Season 4.

Next was a conversation about the show's various butts, including one giant butt, Gomez saying how she feels upstaged by the giant butt. "I feel like we have all been upstaged by a giant ass at some point," Fraser joked.

The cast then spoke on bringing their zombie versions to life. "I was like, 'Oh, I got this,'" Bowlby said of her first thoughts, but felt she hadn't prepared enough and developed enough zombie sounds after seeing what her castmates were doing. "I never got to be a zombie," Gomez said, saying that Bowlby shouting "BRAINS" on set would always crack her up.

Gomez and Wade were asked about the fight between Cyborg and baby Madame Rouge, and Wade recalled how he had to figure it all out -- when there wasn't an actual baby there. "I don't know, I wasn't there," Gomez said.

A "special treat" was then shown to the audience, a first look at Doom Patrol Season 4. The first look ended with the reveal that Doom Patrol Season 4 will release Dec. 8, 2022.

Bowlby praised her superhero costume and its designer, saying the suit "fits like a glove."

The panel then teased what is in store for their characters, Wade talking again on Vic's journey of self-discovery without superpowers. "He gets to a point where he realizes that the superhero is not super because of the power," Wade said. "The willpower of wanting to protect and serve," Wade said, is what will drive Vic in the future.

Bowbly talked on Rita's journey, saying she's "super stoked" to be the leader and that she will want the "best" Doom Patrol ever. "She's a little sadistic, but that's alright," Bowlby, saying that Rita is really grounded and a true leader by the end of Season 4.

"The beauty of Doom Patrol to me is that they're misfits...an unconventional family," Fraser said. He talked about Cliff's history as a "jerk" and how he crashed his car to wind up a brain in a robot, turning to the audience and saying, "Life, right?" Fraser said that Cliff is on a path to become a better man, even though he is a robot.

Gomez said that Madame Rouge will be in a gray area, towing the line between good and bad. She described how Rita and Madame Rouge play off each other, one making one more good and the other a little more bad. "We're trying to come together," she said of the team, and people in real life.

With that, the Doom Patrol portion of the panel ended. Titans will be arriving on stage in a few moments.

The next moderator welcomed to the stage was TV Guide's Damien Holbrook. He welcomed out Walker, followed by Orpin, Potter and Thwaites. While it is the second panel for the majority of the show's stars, it is Orpin's first, according to the actor.

A "special announcement" was played, a video with Starfire actor Anna Diop saying that Titans Season 4 will premiere Nov. 3, 2022. Walker added that it will be a two-episode premiere.

Potter said, "We love Anna," after praising her performance.

Holbrook said that the Titans are actually having fun at the start of Season 4, with Walker saying, "That won't last." The showrunner spoke on the Titans on a road trip, before Holbrook asked if there was anything that could be shown to the audience. Walker said the team will get a call from a DC figure in Metroplis that brings them to Metropolis.

A teaser clip played, showing a hand reaching out of a pool of blood, a clear reference to Season 4's upcoming threat, Brother Blood, played by Joseph Morgan.

Thwaites was asked about Nightwing finally feeling comfortable as the Titans' leader. Thwaites brought up how Dick will try and help Superboy connect with his parents, but since Superman isn't available, it will unfortunately be the "bad one," Lex Luthor. He said that Dick will struggle with how Superboy gets influenced by Luthor the most.

Orpin talked about how Superboy "is always struggling" with who he is, but he will now start making decisions in Season 4.

Holbrook asked Potter about Beast Boy. "I think we are picking up right where we left off with his mental health," Potter said, talking about how the character will start to dive into his pain and work through it. "We'll see Gar kind of unravel in order to find himself." After Orpin asked if Gar "tranforms," Potter said he "evolves." He said that more animal transformations are in store, ones that haven't been seen before, as well as half-transformations.

Walker spoke on Titus Welliver being cast as Lex Luthor, and how he is a fan of Titans. The showrunner recalled thinking about how to sell him on the role, and that at the beginning of their phonecall, Welliver stopped Walker, took him through his collection of writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Perez's comics and talked for 35 minutes. "He's a deep, deep fan," Walker said of the Luthor actor.

The conversation then turned to the Titans in Metropolis, asking how the show adapts the "light" city from the DC Universe. "Forces emerge," Walker said, to show that dark forces lurk under the surface of the city though. "We are showing the Daily Planet. We have built the Lex tower...and we do build S.T.A.R. Labs," Walker said of Metropolis' locales and well-known DC spots.

Orpin was asked about how Superboy reacts to meeting Lex. "It is probably one of the most significant and traumatic experiences of his life...when he first meets Lex," Orpin said.

A clip then played of the Titans in their RV. During a conversation with Tim Drake showing off his new bo-staff and wanting to show it to "Bernard," Superboy is suddenly sent a message by Lex Luthor saying that they should meet, sent at a frequency only his super-hearing can hear. As for Tim, Bernard is Tim Drake's boyfriend in DC Comics' current Tim Drake: Robin series, hinting at Tim possibly being bisexual in the show.

Holbrook pointed out how close Raven and Beast Boy are in the clip, and asked Thwaites about Nightwing's relationships. He talked of Dick Grayson messing things up with Barbara Gordon, and said that Nightwing and Starfire's feelings for each other will begin to "flourish" once again in Season 4.

The panel teased Season 4's new character, Jinx, and talked about how she is not good or bad, but a "chaotic neutral" character.

Thwaites was asked about training Tim Drake, and if there were any more Robins he wants to see. The crowd called out for Robins they want to see, such as Damien Wayne. Potter said, "Stephanie Brown" into the microphone, while Orpin mentioned the Carrie Kelly Easter egg in Season 3.

Orpin also talked of how the Superboy shirt isn't really a shirt, but a onesie tucked into his jeans, which is what makes it always look so tight in the show. Thwaites spoke of his Nightwing suit, saying he feels bad for the costume workers that have to "peel" it off of him at the end of a shoot.

Holbrook turned the attention to Potter after, asking about how he gets a new costume in Season 4. Potter talked of his new supersuit, and said that he was given a choice between red or purple, but he went with the red and white due to wanting to stick with the Wolfman/Perez tone instilled in the show, despite loving the purple known as a classic Beast Boy color scheme from stories like the Teen Titans animated show. The crowd was then showed Beast Boy's new super suit for Season 4. "I just choose to be in it for as long as I can," Potter said.

Talking about the Krypto dog actors, Thwaites said, "One wants to bite me in the balls and one doesn't," and that the one that wants to attack him does look better on camera.

Speaking on dealing with a new supernatural threat with Brother Blood, Thwaites said that Dick will turn to Jinx for help dealing with the villain outside of his wheelhouse.

Another clip was shown of the Titans facing Mother Mayhem, who single-handedly defeats Superboy, Nightwing and Raven in the clip, and a power exchange with Starfire results in a massive explosion. "I feel like they are going to need more than Jinx," Holbrook explained, with Walker responding, "That they do."

The panel discussed the show's fight scenes, choreography and visual effects, and Thwaites explained the process of understanding how powers will appear on-screen ahead of time. One thing mentioned was how cold night shoots can be on the show. "It acutally looks cool," Thwaites said of the clip shown.

Holbrook asked about any characters possibly returning who have been lost, with Walker saying the only one who would be difficult to resurrect is Hank Hall, who was blown up in Season 4. "We would love to see some characters come back from the past," Walker said, saying that characters from the catacombs of Titans history will be returning.

The stars explained their training boot camps for the show, recalling how Season 4 didn't have any team training but they did a lot of gym training. Thwaites recounted that Jason Todd actor Curran Walters had to go through training in Season 3 to learn how to use guns, while the show's stars all had to do a six-week boot camp for that season.

The panel was asked about the theme of Season 4. Thwaites said that the ongoing theme continues to be "family" and a group of people who found each other and are "doing good things together." Potter said that every character has a slightly different journey, bringing up again how Beast Boy's will be tackling his mental health and trauma. Orpin said for him it's about "identity." Walker said that the Titans will be going through a crisis and learning how to struggle through it together in Season 4.

With that, double-panel for Doom Patrol and Titans ended.
