The highly anticipated Arrowverse crossover "Crisis On Infinite Earths" promises to be The CW's biggest yet, roping in not only heroes from Arrow, The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl and Batwoman, but also Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman and Cress Williams’ Black Lightning. On top of that, fan-favorite voice actor Kevin Conroy will appear as an older Bruce Wayne, and Brandon Routh will once again don the red cape, this time as the Kingdom Come version of Superman.

"Crisis on Infinite Earths" is truly living up to its name, by featuring alternate versions of DC characters from all over. And now, the event series may get even bigger. Earlier today, a rumor surfaced that the cast of DC Universe's Titans might play a role in "Crisis," only to be swiftly debunked. However, we can only hope Warner Bros. Television gives the notion serious consideration, because such a crossover would be a brilliant move for The CW and the DC Universe streaming service.

A New Level of Fan Service

"Crisis on Infinite Earths" is already shaping up to be something that no DC fan will want to miss. Whether you're a fan of only certain shows or certain characters, the sheer number of superheroes and actors involved is bound to interest everyone. In some ways, it's DC's television equivalent of Avengers: Endgame, which brought together every Marvel Cinematic Universe hero.

Now, DC is doing the same by not only bringing all of The CW shows together, but also by providing plenty of fan service. On top of Routh's Superman and Conroy's Bruce Wayne, we also know that Burt Ward will play an unspecified role. Plus, while far from a done deal, Arrowverse executive producer Marc Guggenheim is also pursuing the cast of Smallville for the crossover. Therefore, the inclusion of the Titans cast would not only be logical, but something else for the fans to get excited about.

Think about it: Outside of the excessive levels of violence and profanity seen on Titans, we could easily imagine Robin, Starfire and the rest of the team as part of the Arrowverse tapestry. What's more, with Deathsroke set to make his debut in Season 2 of Titans and the character a fan-favorite (as played by Manu Bennett) in the Arrowverse, this would certainly be a clever way of bringing the mercenary back into the fold, if only for a cameo.

A crossover focusing primarily on alternate universes is a golden opportunity to bring together the characters from DC's hit shows in one must-see event.

Cross-Promotion at Its Finest

On top of pleasing the established audience, an appearance by the Titans on “Crisis on Infinite Earths” would have the benefit of introducing new fans to the character. While the Arrowverse shows have their devoted fanbase, it’s possible that not all viewers aware of the DC Universe streaming platform. Or perhaps they just haven’t given it a fair chance yet. Bringing the Titans in the Arrowverse could change that. Their inclusion in the crossover could be enough to pique the interest of a new audience, or perhaps even keep passion for the DCU series flaming just as its second season nears its conclusion this December.

The DC Universe streaming service is home to a growing roster of original series, but Titans is its flagship. Having the cast appear in “Crisis on Infinite Earths” not only serves as a great vehicle from cross-promotion, it would also show that DC is willing to do what no one else has ever done on the small screen before.

Now streaming on DC Universe, Titans stars Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Kory Anders, Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth and Ryan Potter as Garfield Logan, with Rachel Nichols as Angela, Seamus Dever as Trigon, Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger, Alan Ritchson as Hank Hall, Curran Walters as Jason Todd and Joshua Orpin as Superboy. Season 2 arrives Sept. 6. Scheduled to air this fall on The CW, "Crisis on Infinite Earths" will involve Arrow, Supergirl, The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman.
