IGN has learned that Titan Comics has acquired the "Deus Ex" license and plans to publish comics based on the dystopian video game series starting in 2016. The first story arc, which will span five issues, comes from writer Alex Irvine ("Dark Sun," "Daredevil Noir") and "Assassin's Creed" cover artist Marco Turini.

"Eidos-Montreal have set a precedent for cyberpunk gaming and we're delighted to be a part of their next exciting venture," said Titan Comics editor Tom Williams in the announcement. "The Deus Ex Universe is rich with political intrigue and social commentary and we can't wait to further explore Adam Jensen's journey through this dystopian landscape, as well as introducing readers to some of the characters of the anticipated new installment, 'Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.'"

With the announcement of this comic book series, 2016 looks to be a massive year for "Deus Ex" fans. The next installment in the video game series, "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided," is scheduled for release on February 23. Titan has announced that the comic book will arrive shortly after on March 2.
