Be warned: The trailer you're about to watch below is not of the highest quality. It sort of fits the vibe of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, though. The adaptation of John le Carré's novel heaps talent upon talent into a mystery-thriller that looks, in this trailer at least, like it could have sprung from the mind of Alfred Hitchcock. The below-average quality of the video feeds directly into that feeling; you'd be hard-pressed to peg this movie for a Nov. 18, 2011, release if all of the recognizable faces weren't there to clue you in.
The film, directed by Let the Right One In helmer Tomas Alfredson, stars Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, John Hurt, Toby Jones, Mark Strong and Benedict Cumberbatch (star of BBC's Sherlock who recently joined the cast of The Hobbit as the voice of Smaug). This isn't our first look at the movie, but it's hopefully the last we'll get until November. You know ... so nothing more is spoiled.
