Timothée Chalamet recently sang the praises of Zendaya's performance in the upcoming film Dune: Part Two.

In an interview with Variety, the actor discussed Zendaya's reprisal of the desert warrior Chani in the upcoming film. "She hasn't wrapped yet," he explained, "and it's amazing. She's bringing exactly what she brought to the first one — which was incredible — but in greater abundance. And she's really become a sister. I'm so grateful to count her as a partner and a sister and a friend."

Zendaya recently shared a beautiful BTS photo of Dune: Part Two on her Instagram story from the Abu Dhabi desert, which she captioned, "Sending love from Arrakis." Dune 2 started production in Italy this past summer, with pre-shooting taking place in Altivole, Italy, at the Brion tomb. In addition to Italy and Abu Dhabi, the sequel is filming in Hungary.

Despite being in the midst of filming, Dune: Part Two's release date has been pushed back quite a bit. In June, it was pushed from its original release date of Oct. 20, 2023, to Nov. 17, 2023. However, it was recently moved again, this time to Nov. 3, 2023. As of now, the film is set to take the release spot of the Mahershala Ali-led Blade after its development was paused.

The New Actors Joining the Dune Sequel

But Dune 2 has been providing fans with some juicy updates while they wait for the film's release, including exciting new casting updates. Actor Christopher Walken recently joined the cast and is set to play Emperor Shaddam IV, who is referred to in the Dune novel series as the last Padishah Emperor of the Corrino Empire. Another recent addition is Léa Seydoux, who is set to play Lady Margot, a servant of the Sisterhood. The two will join actors returning from Dune, such as Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, and Charlotte Rampling.

There have also been a few false casting rumors circulating around. Eternals actor Barry Keoghan addressed rumors that he would be appearing in Dune 2, saying, "Look, I'm a big fan of Dune, and it would have been nice to be part of it. I'm a big fan of Timothée as well. But it wasn't for me."

Dune: Part Two is set to hit theaters on Nov. 3, 2022.
