The time-traveling villain Kang the Conqueror will headline a new series that will set the stage for the Marvel Universe in 2022.

The description for Timeless reads, "The future of the Marvel Universe is here, and Timeless is where it all begins. When a threatening new timeline emerges, Kang the Conqueror must fight his way through the coming year to protect the main 616 timeline he’s worked centuries to solidify as his own. Timeless Marvel Comics series starring Kang the Conqueror

Kang the Conqueror is currently starring in a miniseries by writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly, artist Carlos Magno, colorist Espen Grundetjern and letterer Joe Caramagna. It finds an adult Kang traveling back in time to pluck his younger self from the timeline, in order to train young Kang up so he doesn't repeat his elder's mistakes. However, the first issue concludes with young Kang stranding his older counterpart in the prehistoric era after stealing his time-traveling tech.

Of course, Kang made a surprising appearance in the finale episode of Loki's first season on Disney+. Jonathan Majors portrayed a variant of Kang in Loki, and is slated to return in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Timeless goes on sale in December from Marvel Comics.
