Callan McAuliffe, who played young Jay Gatsby in 2013's "The Great Gatsby," will star in "Beyond," the ABC Family pilot from "Heroes" creator Tim Kring.

Variety reports the 20-year-old actor will play Holden, a young man who wakes up in a hospital not realizing he's been in a coma for 12 years. He's emotionally a teenager, physically an adult, and possibly in possession of supernatural powers.

McAuliffe is joined by Jordan CAlloway ("Switched at Birth," "Recovery Road") as Holden's childhood best friend, Dilan Gwyn (“DaVinci’s Demons”) as Holden’s love interest, Romy Rosemont ("Glee") as Holden’s mother, Michael McGrady (“Ray Donovan,” “American Crime Story”) as Holden’s father, and Burkely Duffield (“The Tomorrow People”) as Holden’s younger brother.

"Beyond" is created, written and executive produced by Adam Nussdorf (“Once Upon a Time in Wonderland”).
