Fox wishes "Happy Loop Day" with the first teaser for “Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children,” director Tim Burton's adaptation of the bestselling novel by Ransom Riggs.

Today's date, Sept. 4, is significant to the story, but also a bit of A SPOILER, so we'll wait and spell it out below.

Set for release March 4, 2016, the film tells the story of Jacob Portman, a teenager who, in the aftermath of a family tragedy, follows clues from his grandfather’s past that lead him to derelict orphanage for “peculiar children.”

You'll note that the hands of the pocket watch in the teaser spin backward, because in the novel, the orphanage exists in a time loop, where it's always Sept. 4, 1940. The clocks in the house reset themselves just before the orphanage is destroyed by German bombers, thus saving all the children.

“Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children” stars Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell, Chris O’Dowd, Allison Janney, Terence Stamp, Kim Dickens, Rupert Everett, Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson.
