Fear not, citizens, Amazon's "The Tick" now has an official release date. The show will premiere on August 25, 2017. The video announcing the date begins with "The Tick" logo flying across the screen with the phrase "Fear not, citizens. He's on his way." From there, Tick's forehead and antennae pop up from the bottom of the screen, and the numbers "8 25 17" reveal his debut date. The hero caps off the short video with an exclamation of "NEAT!"

“The Tick” is the latest adaptation of the character created by cartoonist Ben Edlund in 1986 to advertise the New England Comics chain. The character would find popularity later when he went on to star in his own line of independent comics in 1988 and, in 1994, as the star of an animated series on Fox. Fox also attempted to adapt the character into a live-action show in 2001, but the series was short-lived, airing for only nine episodes before it was cancelled.
