A new Thunderbolts team forms while Spider-Man celebrates his 60th anniversary in Marvel Comics' upcoming releases.
Before they join the Marvel Cinematic Universe during the Phase 5 slate announced at San Diego Comic-Con, the Thunderbolts are back with a new leader, line up and mission. Writer Jim Zub and artist Sean Izaakse are bringing Marvel readers Thunderbolts #1 on Wednesday, the debut of a five-issue miniseries starring the team. Led by Hawkeye Clint Barton and including heroes like Monica Rambeau and America Chavez, this version of the Thunderbolts seeks to better their name in New York City after the Kingpin twisted it to his villainous benefit during the Devil's Reign crossover event.
Meanwhile, another New York-based superhero is celebrating a major milestone: Spider-Man. It is the web slinger's 60th anniversary after Peter Parker first appeared in 1962's Amazing Fantasy #15, and Marvel is celebrating by releasing Amazing Fantasy #1000 with many all-star creators attached. The line-up for the large anthology issue includes the likes of Neil Gaiman, Jonathan Hickman, Dan Slott, Terry and Rachel Dodson, Steve McNiven, John Romita Jr. and many more.
Aside from the anniversary issue and Thunderbolts, it is also a week of finales for Marvel. Deadpool: Bad Blood, Moon Knight: Black, White & Blood and Iron Fist all come to a close this week. The full list of Marvel's releases can be found alphabetically below, covers and solicitations included.
