While Batman: Three Jokers may have been pushed from its initial debut date, new preview pages have been released to help fans tide over the wait.
Included with DC Comics' announcement that the DC Black Label miniseries by Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok has been delayed to August, the new preview pages show the Joker driving an Ace Chemicals truck. As the Clown Prince of Crime drives through an ominously rainy night, Batman, Batgirl and Red Hood visit the Gotham Aquarium, where they discover the Joker has used his signature toxin to inflict a rictus grin on the fish.
"The Laughing Fish" was a classic Batman story in 1978's Detective Comics #475 by Steve Englehart, Marshall Rogers and Terry Austin that had the Joker go to murderous lengths to trademark smiling fish. Hailed as a classic, the story would be directly homaged by Batman: The Animated Series years later.
Three Jokers had been originally scheduled to launch next month but, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, production on the book has been delayed.
Written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by Jason Fabok, Batman: Three Jokers #1 goes on sale August 25 from DC Comics.
