For decades, Marvel Comics fans have debated who's stronger: Thor, god of thunder, or the jade giant known as the Incredible Hulk. While solid arguments can be -- and have been -- made on behalf of either Avenger, there's never been a truly definitive answer, so it's understandable that some fans might be hoping for Thor: Ragnarok to settle the debate, once and for all.

Well, according to screenwriter Eric Pearson, that's not likely to happen. Though he admits that the film does give fans what they want in the fight itself, anyone expecting the final verdict on which superhero is truly the mightiest will be left wanting.

"I think people will continue to have those debates even after the fight," Pearson told CBR in an upcoming interview. "I think that’s what is the most fun about being a fan of these kinds of things. You have your favorites. It is nerd sports. You have your favorites and your own belief in their strengths and weaknesses. It’s a blast to talk about who you think would ultimately win. There was a lot of attention paid to that fight. We knew it would be a big attraction. From the beginning, we were doing a lot to choreograph the moments that we needed."

"I think we gave a pretty satisfying ending to the fight," the writer mused. "It’s both definitive and ambiguous, if that’s possible."

Opening in North America on November 3, director Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
