Star Chris Hemsworth appeared Tuesday on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he debuted a brief scene in which his god of thunder sizes up weapons in an armory on Sakaar, and laments the loss of Mjolnir to Korg, a fellow gladiator portrayed by director Taika Waititi.

When Thor's remarks are rephrased by Korg, his relationship with his enchanted hammer does certainly sound, er, "special and intimate."  Hemsworth explained to Kimmel that the loose, comedic feel was something encouraged on the film's set.

"It was one line originally," he said. "We just started improving a lot of that scene, and that was the tone of most the movie, this sort of encouraged improvisation."

Arriving Nov. 3, director Taika Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/the Hulk and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
