Ahead of its appearance at Comic-Con International in San Diego -- which is set to kick off on July 20 at the San Diego Convention Center -- Marvel unveiled its line of Marvel Legends for the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok film, and give us perhaps our best look yet at Loki's new costume in the third Thor film.
Part of its Marvel Legends line, the newly revealed Thor: Ragnarok figures, which include Thor, Valkyrie, Hela, and Loki, come with a build-a-figure Hulk in his gladiator outfit. While the entire line is exciting, it's the Loki figure that is the most interesting as it shows off the character's new costume, which has (up to now) only been briefly on display. As opposed to his normal dark green threads with gold elements typically among his shoulders and/or arms, his costume this time around is a lighter shade of green with a gold coloring on the underside of his cape. It's a brighter look than we've typically seen from Loki, but one that fits with the color scheme hinted at in director Taika Waititi's film.
Also included in the bunch is a Hela figure. The figure, which is seen below, manages to capture actress Cate Blanchett's likeness almost perfectly. The figure comes with interchangeable heads, including one which features Hela's iconic headdress.
There's also a Thor and Valkyrie two-pack. Unlike the others, Valkyrie does not appear to be a figure sold on its own, so fans eager to own their own Valkyrie featuring the likeness of actress Tessa Thompson will seemingly need to pick up the two-pack which also features Thor. However, those that would prefer to own the Thor figure but not the two-pack will also have the chance to purchase a Thor figure by itself.
All of these figures, of course, lead to the assembly of the Gladiator Hulk build-a-figure. The figure, once all the pieces are assembled, will include the character's Gladiator costume which Marvel had on display at last year's SDCC.
The expected on sale date for the Thor: Ragnarok figures is August 1.
Opening November 3, Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/the Hulk and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
