A major nod to The Eternals in 2017's Thor: Ragnarok may have been uncovered by a fan.

A picture of Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) on Sakaar in Thor: Ragnarok was posted on Reddit by user Initial_XD. The image shows two ships in the background and, for comparison, the user posted an image of the Eternals ship below. The two vehicles feature a lot of similar elements, indicating the ship in Thor: Ragnarok could, in fact, be a reference to The Eternals.

Created by Jack Kirby, 1976's The Eternals featured the first appearance of the titular team. For Thor: Ragnarok, director Taika Waititi notably drew inspiration from Kirby's work and aesthetics, which might explain the resemblance. Still, whether or not this Easter egg was intentional or not is unclear.

Directed by Chloé Zhao with a screenplay by Matthew and Ryan Firpo, Eternals stars Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Gemma Chan as Sersi and Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, aka the Black Knight. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 6, 2020.
