The Thor franchise had often been viewed as Marvel's weakest when compared to the likes of Iron Man and Captain America, but Thor: Ragnarok managed to change that perception. The film, which went on to smash box office expectations, not only proved to be yet another success for Marvel Studios, it also marked a fresh new step for the Asgardian Avenger. Now, with the film's digital release finally here, the bonus content is sure to make fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe more than happy to add Ragnarok to their collections.

Marvel has already unveiled some of the fantastic bonus content included with the home release of Thor: Ragnarok, including a tease of the Team Darryl short featuring The Grandmaster, as well as director Taika Waititi's introduction. However, that's only a portion of what fans can expect. Along with aforementioned Daryl short and Waititi's intro, fans will get an "interview" about casting Korg, a look at the Thor/Hulk bromance, and various extended and deleted scenes -- including that odd Grandmaster/tentacle scene. Here, we take a look at each feature and rank them from least important to most.

Korg's Casting "Interview"

Korg Thor Ragnarok

Korg may have been a secondary character in the film, however, he quickly became a fan-favorite with many hoping we'd see more of the character -- played by Waititi -- going forward. This bit, however, will focus on the journey to bringing the character to life in the threequel. Described as a "tongue-in-cheek" interview with the director, "Finding Korg" takes a look at the evolution of the character design, as well as the visual effects that helped bring him to life on the big screen.

Evolution of Thor and Hulk’s Bromance

The dynamic between Thor and Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok was one of the film's strongest aspects. After all, these were two characters that famously fought in The Avengers, and despite working together in Avengers: Age of Ultron never really had the greatest of bonds. That all changed in Ragnarok. This feature will look back to the beginning when the two first met, from their first Helicarrier fight, to their time in Sakaar, exploring how the unlikely duo became friends that helped save Asgard together.

The Extended/Deleted Scenes

As with the latest "Team Darryl" short, the extended and deleted scenes promise plenty of Goldblum's Grandmaster. However, they also offer more of Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange, not to mention Karl Urban's scene-stealing Skurge. If you purchase the digital version of the film, you'll also unlock two additional deleted scenes -- "Travel to Asgard" and "Race To The Wormhole," making for a total of five deleted and three extended scenes.

Sure, there's no David Hasselhoff-led music video, but judging by the extended scenes that have already surfaced, they're just as fun as the rest of the film.

Taika Waititi's Introduction

Waititi is an incredibly talented director and actor, yes, but he also has a fantastic sense of humor that is on full display in this introduction to Thor: Ragnarok. In the video, Taika teasingly reveals he signed on to join the film for Twitter followers, while also stating his ambitions for the film. He explains, "What I really wanted to do with Thor, was capture the essence of Peter Pan, a little bit of Termintator 2, a dash of Independence Day, a smidgen of On Golden Pond, with a kind of tone of Beaches mixed in with My Fair Lady. So, I think we've achieved that."

This introduction, of course, is in addition to the wonderful new Marvel Studios introduction the director came up with, which you should also make it a point to check out.

Team Darryl Short Featuring the Grandmaster

The "Team Thor" short from the Captain America: Civil War home release, proved to be a massive success with fans, so Taika and Marvel follow up with another installment. This time around, Jeff Goldblum's Grandmaster finds himself joining Darryl in Los Angeles as both seek a new start in their lives.

For Darryl, this means a new job and life in California. For The Grandmaster, however, this means learning about life outside of Sakaar... and toast. While it'll be hard to top the original "Team Thor" short, anything that brings us more of Jeff Goldblum's The Grandmaster is, of course, a win.

Director's Commentary

Director commentaries are always one of the most exciting features on any home release as they allow fans to truly delve into the mind's of those that helped bring the feature to life. So, when said director happens to be none other than Taika Waititi, it's hard not to imagine the feature will deliver plenty of gems. Over the course of his career, Waititi has established himself as not only a wonderful actor, but also an incredibly talented writer and director thanks to films such as Hunt for the Wilderpeople and What We Do in the Shadows. Which is why when it was announced that the studio had eyed him to tackle the third Thor film, many were curious as to what to expect.

In the end, Waititi delivered what is easily the best installment in the Thor franchise, and a jolt of rejuvenation for the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. His director's commentary will probably be no different as the director will more than likely exude his well-known charm as he offers his own thoughts on the film.

Of course, these are only the most notable features. Along with a couple of 8-bit Scenes, which will offer a retro take on the final battle and the Sakaar spaceship fight, the home release offers a closer look at Sakaar, an analysis of the film's "unstoppable women" (Hela & Valkyrie), and a look back at the first ten years of Marvel Studios.

Thor: Ragnarok is available on digital now and will hit Blu-ray and DVD on March 6th. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Jeff Goldblum, Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.
