Marvel's Asgardian hero Thor is well known for his mystical hammer Mjolnir. The hammer grants Thor the power to control lightning and storms, and it also comes with an enchantment deeming that only the worthy can lift it. That may be about to change in Thor #8.

The issue will return to Broxton, Oklahoma; during J. Michael Stracynzski's run on Thor the city of Asgard was stationed there. According to the synopsis, Broxton has become a tourist trap, as "no worthiness" is required to lift Mjolnir. While this is not the first time someone other than Thor has been able to lift the hammer, the description suggests that the enchantment on Mjolnir may have changed or been outright eradicated.

The change might also have something to do with Thor's current status. The Thunder God was transformed into the latest herald of Galactus; the Devourer of Worlds sought Thor's help in stopping the Black Winter which destroyed his universe. Thor has helped Galactus find five planets that can give him abilities to combat the Black Winter. However, the two recently came face to face with the malevolent Winter -- and it has taken the form of Thor himself.

The official synopsis follows:
