Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt is joining the star-studded cast of Marvel Studios' Thor: Love and Thunder.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pratt will co-star alongside confirmed Love and Thunder actors Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale and director Taika Waititi.

Back in March, Vin Diesel confirmed the fourth Thor film will feature an appearance by the Guardians of the Galaxy. "I am waiting and excited for my friend James Gunn to knock this next one out of the park," Diesel said. "He took The Suicide Squad so he's about to embark on it. Thor will also -- the director talked to me about Thor will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy."

In his last Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance, Thor boarded the Milano with Rocket Raccoon. He realized he wasn't destined to be a king and left the rule of Asgard (at least, what's left of it) to Valkyrie, who accepted despite her disbelief. So he left Earth with the Guardians to go adventuring, though Peter Quill was none too happy about this turn of events.

Thor: Love and Thunder star Chris Hemsworth also chimed in on wanting to see the Avenger team-up with the Guardians of the Galaxy. "I'd play that character again. I love it so much -- especially if there's something unique to do again with it," Hemsworth said in June 2019. "I felt like the last three films were very, very different each time."

Hemsworth recently shared a photo from the first script read for Love and Thunder. "Terrific first script meeting for 'Thor Love and Thunder' with our ever fearless leader Taika Waititi," Hemsworth captioned the photo. "My notes were so detailed and intense that the only way for Taika to fully absorb them was to roll himself into a tight cocoon and bake in the endless possibilities of where the film will take us. The bloke in the background was equally riveted by my storytelling prowess."

Plot details for Thor: Love and Thunder remain tight-lipped, though Natalie Portman has revealed it will borrow heavily from Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman's comic book run on Mighty Thor, with Portman's Jane Foster going through cancer treatment.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and Christian Bale in an unconfirmed role. The film arrives in theaters Feb. 11, 2022.
