Vincent D'Onofrio, who appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in Netflix's Daredevil and Disney+'s Hawkeye, gave Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder his official seal of approval.

D'Onofrio responded to the Love and Thunder director on Twitter, who thanked fans for coming out to see the MCU film in theaters. "This, this film right here. I love it," D'Onofrio said in response to Waititi's tweet.

Despite experiencing a significant drop in earnings -- nearly 68 percent -- in its second weekend, Thor: Love and Thunder continues to do well at the box office, earning $45 million over this most recent weekend. This brought the film's total earnings to $232 million at the global box office. This comes after the film earned $143 million in domestic box office sales when it was first released, a significant jump from the earnings of its predecessor, Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, which earned $123 million in its first weekend.

Thor 4 Rules at the Box Office

Love and Thunder follows Chris Hemsworth's Thor as he attempts to thwart the murderous plans of Gorr the God Butcher, played by Christian Bale. Joining the God of Thunder is Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, who has taken on the mantle of the Mighty Thor, as well as Korg (Waititi) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson).

D'Onofrio last appeared as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in the Disney+ series Hawkeye, which followed Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton as he attempts to train Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld, to take over as the new Hawkeye. D'Onofrio first appeared as the villainous crime boss in Netflix's Marvel Television series, Daredevil, a role he would play for three seasons until the show was canceled in 2019, along with the rest of Marvel's Netflix shows, including Jessica Jones, Punisher, Iron Fist and Luke Cage. D'Onofrio reprised the role for Hawkeye on Disney+ and will appear once again in the upcoming spinoff series, Echo, which will focus on Echo/Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox).

While the plot details surrounding Echo remain scarce, recent rumors suggest that Wilson Fisk's role in the upcoming series will see him running for mayor of New York City. Whether or not these rumors are true, D'Onofrio's role being confirmed for the upcoming spinoff also confirms that Fisk survived his injuries in the finale of Hawkeye, which saw Echo shoot him and leave him for dead.

D'Onofrio has been open about his desire to continue playing Wilson Fisk in the MCU. "I really want to. There's all these different facets," D'Onofrio said in December 2021 about reprising the role. "The most interesting thing about this guy -- and I think you can tell as we talk here -- is what makes him tick. That is complicated and cool in my mind."

Echo does not currently have a release date, but Hawkeye and Daredevil are both currently available on Disney+/
