Valkyrie actor Tessa Thompson shared her impression of Thor: Love and Thunder's script.

In an interview for her upcoming film, Sylvie's Love, Thompson was asked by ET if there were any Thor-related updates. While Thompson confirmed that she cannot share much, she did say that filming will begin "very soon," and shared her thoughts on the film's latest draft.

"I just read the newest draft the other day," Thompson said. "It's very funny and very touching." Thor: Love and Thunder is co-written by director Taika Waititi and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, and will include Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) becoming The Mighty Thor.

Although the film's plot has been kept mostly under wraps, it was confirmed during Disney's Investor Day event that Christian Bale is joining the MCU as the villain Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder. Bale's character will go head-to-head with Thor, according to Disney -- although it's unclear which Thor this will be.

Gorr the God Butcher debuted in 2012's Thor: God of Thunder #2, vowing to destroy Gods for not helping those in need. Although the character doesn't wield powers, he does carry an ancient weapon, All-Black the Necrosword, that grants him immortality, flight, minion-summoning powers and regenerative capabilities.

Bale joins returning Thor alums Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Jaimie Alexander and Tessa Thompson as they reprise their roles as Thor, Jane Foster, Lady Sif and Valkyrie.

As for Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, it's been confirmed that she'll continue her reign as the King of Asguard and will possibly find love within Thor 4. In June 2019, Thompson teased, "As new King, she needs to find her new queen, so that'll be her first order of business, she has some ideas." Thompson's playful banter was returned by a request from actor Jaimie Alexander to be her queen. News of Alexander's confirmed return to the Thor franchise has already led fans to speculate that this request might be honored in the upcoming film.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. The film arrives in theaters May 6, 2022.
