Director Taika Waititi revealed that the fan-favorite character Korg will be joining the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder.
On Jimmy Kimmel Live, the late-night host asked Waititi if he had anything to say about the fourth entry in the Thor franchise (which Waititi will be both writing and directing). On top of revealing he "just finished a couple of drafts" for the film, the director went on to state, "and my character is coming back, Korg," much to the pleasure of the audience.
Voiced by Waititi himself, Korg made his debut in Thor's third Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Thor: Ragnorak. Most recently, the Kronan gladiator made a cameo alongside his companion Miek in the record-breaking Avengers: Endgame.
Announced by Marvel Studios President and Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Thor: Love and Thunder will see Jane Foster (played by Natalie Portman) don the mantle of Thor, possibly even adapting the character's breast cancer storyline from the comics.
Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. The film arrives in theaters on Nov. 5, 2021.
