A new piece of merchandise from the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder hints at New Asgard developing into a tourist attraction on Earth in the upcoming film.

A photo surfaced of a Love and Thunder coffee mug that features the words "Greetings from New Asgard" written out on a postcard along with smaller logos such as one for New Asgard Hammers and another for New Asgard Tours. The third Thor film, Thor: Ragnarok, ended with the destruction of the titular hero's home of Asgard, forcing the residents of the mythical kingdom to flee in search of a new place to live. In Avengers: Endgame, the Asgardians find a new home in a settlement dubbed New Asgard located in Norway.

With the Love and Thunder trailer yet to arrive, fans have been looking to things like merchandise and official images to garner clues about the film. With less than 92 days until release, Love and Thunder breaks the record for the shortest amount of time of any Marvel Cinematic Universe film between the release of its first trailer and the release of the movie itself. The previous record was held by The Incredible Hulk in 2008, which was released 93 days after its first trailer. A likely explanation for the lateness is the fact that Thor 4 went back for reshoots recently, focusing on Christian Bale's scenes as Gorr the God Butcher.

Despite the late reshoots, director Taika Waititi was pretty nonchalant about the delays when he discussed them recently. "It's still not finished," he explained. "It comes out in July, so probably the end of June [laughs]. Probably like a day before the premiere [laughs]. That's how we do it."

The merchandise has Gorr as a grey-skinned, bald-headed creature wearing a hooded sweatshirt with tattoos down both of his arms. Recent images of an upcoming Thor Christmas ornament similarly gave fans their a new look at Chris Hemsworth's costume.
