During last weekend's Comic-Con International in San Diego, Marvel Studios confirmed Taika Waititi would return to direct Thor: Love and Thunder. Along with returning costars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, Waititi also announced the return of Natalie Portman's Jane Foster, who will wield Mjolnir as the Mighty Thor.

However, there may have been another returning character the director omitted.

On Sunday, Thor: Ragnarok's Jeff Goldblum tweeted an image of the Love and Thunder title card with an added subtitle: "And not forgetting The Grandmaster." In the caption, Goldblum simply wrote "Love & Thunder... 2021," before thanking Waititi.

While it's not exactly a confirmation, it sure appears as if the actor will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Goldblum debuted as the Grandmaster in 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, where he was introduced as the ruler of Sakaar, home of the Contest of Champions. However, after the prisoner uprising instigated by Thor, the Grandmaster was last seen at the mercy of his people in the film's post-credits scene.

The actor later reprised the role of the Grandmaster for the Ragnarok home release in the (out-of-universe) short film Team Darryl, also directed by Waititi. There, the Elder of the Universe appeared as the newest housemate of Darryl, who previously hung out with the God of Thunder in the short film Team Thor.
