Thor: Love and Thunder star Natalie Portman says the Marvel Cinematic Universe's fourth Thor film is set to begin filming in Australia in early 2021.

Star Wars and V for Vendetta alum Portman recently took part in a video discussion with American tennis superstar Serena Williams, as the two are major investors in a new National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) team that will represent the city of Los Angeles. About halfway through the video, Williams inquired about Portman's role in Thor: Love and Thunder. "I'm very excited," Portman said. "We're shooting in Australia at the beginning of next year."

Love and Thunder will see Portman's MCU character, Jane Foster, take on the mantle of the Mighty Thor, as the character did in the Marvel comic books. Portman made her debut as Jane in 2011's Thor, subsequently reprising the role two years later in Thor: The Dark World. While Portman sat out 2017's Thor: Ragnarok, she did appear in 2019's Avengers: Endgame via archive footage. Love and Thunder was officially announced at last year's Comic-Con International in San Diego -- with Portman in attendance -- and was originally slated to arrive in theaters in November of 2021. However, with Marvel Studios reshuffling its release slate as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the film is now scheduled to hit theaters in February of 2022. Despite the delay, Portman appears to be in good spirits, telling Williams that it just means she has "more time to get jacked."

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. The film arrives in theaters Feb. 11, 2022.
