Disney and Marvel Studios unveiled a collection of character posters for Thor: Love and Thunder.

The promotional images, which debuted on Marvel's official website, spotlight the Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster's core characters. These include the titular Odinson, Jane Foster aka The Mighty Thor, Gorr the God Butcher, King Valkyrie, Korg, Zeus and franchise newcomers Tooth Grinder and Tooth Gnasher, the Asgardian goats responsible for pulling Thor's mystical longboat. While each of the character posters sports the orange-and-blue color scheme utilized throughout Love and Thunder's marketing campaign, Gorr's image is the only one to sport a red-and-black theme.

Thor: Love and Thunder will see Chris Hemsworth once again wielding the mighty weapon known as Stormbreaker as he steps back into the role of an Avenger who's unsure of his place in the universe. Following the cataclysmic events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor has grown weary of being a superhero, experiencing a midlife crisis about his purpose. Searching for meaning in his life, he embarks on a quest to discover who he really is, roping along several friends to lend him a hand on his journey.

Despite Thor's internal conflict, the god of thunder will have to contend with more than self-doubt in Love and Thunder. The sinister villain known as Gorr will be standing in his way as he sets off on his own mission to slaughter every deity in the known universe. Played by Christian Bale, Gorr's presence allegedly struck fear into the hearts of the movie's cast. "The rest of us would be in our world of improvisation, comedy, and fun – then he'd walk on set, and we'd all look at each other and say 'Oh, my God! This is really intense. This is really scary,'" Hemsworth said.

Beyond a bounty of returning Thor characters, Love and Thunder will also see the beloved Guardians of the Galaxy team up with the Odinson. After last working together on Avengers: Endgame, Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt discussed the experience of working with Hemsworth again. "He is like Thor in real life. He’s the sweetest dude. Super-funny. Works so hard. It was great," Pratt explained. "I loved every minute of shooting [Thor: Love and Thunder]. I’m so grateful that they brought us along. It was neat to see him bring this to Australia and shoot it there, with all of his fellow countrymen."

Thor: Love and Thunder crashes into theaters on July 8.
