Thor, Last Christmas, Smallville: October 9th Comic Reel Wrap

THOR

Director Matthew Vaughn told The Guardian that he has good news and bad news about development on his Marvel project. “Marvel loves the script,” Vaughn said. “The only problem is that it has been costed [sic] at $300m and they ask how I am going to reduce it by $150m. I think I prefer being asked what it’s like working with De Niro.” Ooh.

LAST CHRISTMAS

According to Variety, Hollywood Gang Productionss has optioned rights to the Image graphic novel. Written by Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan, Craig J. Flores will executive produce the project.

SMALLVILLE

Kristin from E! Online claims that the new editor at the Daily Planet has some secrets to hide. “While the new editor in chief of the Daily Planet seems like the picture of perfection,” she wrote, “you might want to think again. There’s something dark behind those pearly whites.”

Meanwhile, Kryptonsite has production stills from the upcoming episode “Lara,” which include a look at Zor-El. They also have screen captures for a longer promo for this week’s episode, “Fierce.”

HEROES

Staying with the small screen, CBR News has another Behind the Eclipse feature with writers Joe Pokaski and Aron Coleite. Director Greg Beeman has also updated his blog

DYLAN DOG

CBR’s own Rich Johnston has news about another comic-related project involving actor Brandon Routh.

THE CASTING COUCH

Slow news day today, eh? That’s why we can’t do this without you. The rumors, the scoops, the set photos — they’re all fueled by passionate fans emailing in the goods. The ones who ask, “What do you mean your sister’s dating somebody who works for Miles Millar?” The ones who know the code names of movie projects and scour city permit filings for them. The devoted, the involved. Fans, just like you. Whatever you know, we wanna know, and whether you want your name shouted to the web’s rafters or kept closer than a classified report, we’ve got you covered like a comforter. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is your humble scribe Hannibal Tabu saying thank you for your time and indulgence, and “enough talk — let’s go make with the ‘biff’ and the ‘pow’ already.”
