A new report suggests actor Christian Bale is in talks with Marvel Studios for a mystery role in director Taika Waititi's upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder. Naturally, fans already have their own theories on who the Dark Knight alum might play, with the most popular choice being fan-favorite Beta Ray Bill. However, Thor writer Jason Aaron has a different idea.In response to ComicBook.com's article, "Who Is Christian Bale Playing in Thor: Love and Thunder?" Aaron posted a panel of Roxxon C.E.O. (and occasional Minotaur) Dario Agger, along with the caption: "You know who's got my vote."
Dario Agger was created by Aaron and artist Esad Ribic and first appeared in 2014's Thor: God of Thunder #19.NOW. The character is a ruthless and successful businessman who, through the power of prayer to Greek gods, became half-man, half-Minotaur when he was a young child. As the CEO of the villainous Roxxon Energy Corporation, Dario clashed with Thor on multiple occasions and became an ally of Malekith the Accursed during the War of the Realms.
Aaron penned an overarching Thor saga that began in 2013's Thor: God of Thunder and recently concluded in 2019's King Thor. His work already serves as the basis for Thor: Love and Thunder, which will feature Jane Foster assuming the mantle of the God of Thunder.
Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 5, 2021.
