Ever wanted to wield Thor’s hammer? Thanks to an upcoming auction from Prop Store, you may get your chance. The company will hold an auction for a collection of superhero film props at the BFI IMAX in London next month. The auction will be live-streamed, which gives fans exciting looks at the 600 lots.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the items up for grabs include Jack Nicholson’s Joker costume from Batman, the helmet Ian McKellen wore in X-Men, Christopher Reeve’s tunic from Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, the Star-Lord helmet worn by Chris Pratt in Guardians of the Galaxy, and of course, Thor’s hammer, utilized by Chris Hemsworth in Thor.
According to Prop Store’s blog posts and its Facebook page, other lots for auction include the Ironmonger suit from Iron Man, a C-3PO special effects head, Sylvester Stallone’s autographed shorts from Rocky III, Bill Murray’s Ghostbusters jumpsuit, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s costume from Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and more.
Unfortunately, many fans will only be able to look at the items before they’re gone, as bidding for items like Thor’s hammer and Nicholson’s costume is expected to reach between 20,000 to 30,000 pounds. Per EW, this is equivalent from about $25,961 to $38,942. Even with the high prices, however, the auction will give movie fans a fantastic look at superhero movie history.
Prop Store’s entertainment memorabilia auction will take place at the BFI IMAX in London on September 26th.
