Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed that he is open to Chris Hemsworth returning to play Thor in future films starring the superhero after Thor: Love and Thunder.

As reported by Games Radar+, Feige is happy for Thor to get a potential fifth or sixth film due to sheer number of tales that revolve around the Norse God that could be put to the big screen. "I know this: there are many, many other Thor stories in the comics that we talk about a lot," he said. "And as we watch Chris Hemsworth continue to grow and evolve as a major acting talent, I would be excited to see how he keeps evolving this complex character."

Feige is not the only one who is receptive to the idea of future Thor movie. Actor Christ Hemsworth also said that he is willing to star in further movies following the God of Thunder, so long as he gets to do something original with him. "Each time, if the opportunity comes up and presents itself, I'm just open to whatever creative exploration can happen, thanks to different writers and directors and so on," he explained. "But I love playing the character, I really do. It always comes down to: 'Is this script different to the last one? Are we repeating something?' And when it becomes too familiar, I think that's when I'd have to say, 'Yeah, no, this doesn't... I think I've...,'" the actor then stopped and chuckled. "I'd like to exit before people tell me to exit."

Serving as the fourth movie that follows the hammer-wielding Avenger, Thor: Love and Thunder features the titular Asgardian God (Chris Hemsworth) on his journey to find inner peace after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Thor soon finds himself pulled back into the fray, however, when a new threat known as Gorr the Butcher (Christian Bale) interrupts his retirement in his quest to rid the universe of all the Gods.

The God of Thunder must face his toughest villain yet alongside the newly ordained King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Watiti) and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who is now the Mighty Thor. The film marks the second time Waititi has directed a Marvel Cinematic Universe property, with predecessor Thor: Ragnarok being his first project in the world of superheroes.

Thor: Love and Thunder will be released in theaters on July 8. Thor, Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok are available to stream now on Disney+.
