Thor Odinson was almost dressed like a Stark for Thor: The Dark World. On Twitter, Marvel Studios Visual Development Supervisor and concept artist Andy Park shared one of his early pieces for the second Thor film. According to the artist, he drew inspiration from HBO's Game of Thrones for the look.
"I don’t think I ever posted this here so here’s a Thor concept I painted for Thor: The Dark World," he wrote. "I went for a STARK look... Winterfell not Tony." He added "Game of Thrones meets Marvel Studios" in the hashtags.

The key difference between Park's concept and the final theatrical look comes down to the cape. In the piece, Thor's cape has a fur-lined collar. The film, however, went with a more traditional look inspired by the earlier iterations of the costume seen in Thor and The Avengers.
Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk and Anthony Hopkins as Odin. The film will be available on Digital HD on February 20, before being released on Blu-ray and DVD on March 6.
